OH MY YES I get this dreadful disgusting things!!  Only in one of my tonsils...I have a rather deep crevice and food particles must get caught in there or post nasal drip drainage.  Then your body thinks its a foreign invader and begins attacking it...that's why it looks gooy yellow white!

I did see ENT (I have history of vertigo and other issues) he put that in my chart and did say removing the tonsil possibly since I get them but also said it is more difficult when your older which scared me from having it done.  I am in my 50's but still guess that means I am OLD...gotta get used to that.  I wish so bad that I could get my tonsils removed....I may....still thinking on it.

Also since I have reactivation of EBV....I have had my glands and tonsils swell up and hurt horrible when this happens.  My throat is so painful from it.

Anyway those things are nasty!  I check everyday for them....twice a day. I remove anything and also use a monojet syringe with warm water to clean that deep opening in my tonsil to wash out any food or whatever that might get stuck in there.  I haven't tried a waterpik....seemed kinda messy but perhaps I should get one.  I do use this device I found online that has a bright light at the end and a small scoop on it to push it out if necessary.  Like popping a zit!!!

GROSSSSSSSSSSSS GAG!!!

This is one "club" I wish I didn't belong too....at least I am not alone!

In medical terms, they are called tonsilliths.  I've seen them in my job a time or two, not often.  I've never known anyone with them.  Basically, it's rotting garbage in stuck in the folds of your tonsils so I would just go with the tonsillectomy and be done with them once and for all.  Especially in your case since you get them despite the fact that you practice good oral hygiene.  I'd be more afraid of infections and bad breath than tonsillectomy.....which no one in modern times bleeds to death from.

I remember that young girl (about 8) that was having this done plus adenoids removed and she did bleed to much and I think went into coma and was pronounced brain dead!  Her parents took her to some other place on life support. Jahi or something like that was her name.

There is risk involved....may be very low...but still this case came to mind when I read your post.

I had my tonsils out when I was three years old.  I can remember going into the surgery then waking up and my parents let me sleep on their bed and gave me ice cream...I'm so glad to have had this done when young.
