@Tinkrbl44 I would presume that if you've had a prescription filled by CVS they have your information on file and w ou,d be able to inform you. That's how I got mine - thru CVS. I had both Shingrix shots last year. Other than some soreness at the site, no reaction. Dry happy I got the, Shingles can be extremely painful. I know of a man who got Shingles in his eyes!!!!!

It was the day after we went to a party, I had a cute new outfit for the party, the next day I felt like I needed a nap, so I took one.
When I woke up there was a sore spot on the back of my left leg/butt area. I asked my husband to look to see if I had a boil or something there, it really hurt. He saw nothing. An hour later, I asked again because I couldn't sit easily. There was a tiny red spot.
Later on I still felt yucky, and sore, he checked and there were several spots.
Advise Nurse gave me quick appointment, my doctor recognized the beginning of Shingles, which I never heard of. He gave me an Anti Viral shot, and wrote perscription for Percoset, one every 6 hours at first.
By the next evening I was in a lot of pain, and there was a mass of red spots.
It ended up covering my left thigh in the back, left buttocks, around the front onto my abdomen. Doctor told my husband to take pictures since this was a massive outbreak. He did, I still have them.
By the weeks end I was in such pain I couldn't stand to have clothing touch me. I had trouble sleeping.
Doctor increased my pain meds to Percoset- 2 every 4 hours, eventually added Morphine- long staying .
Bizzare things happened, I couldn't stand bright colors, my husband had to repaint a wall for me. I heard everything and it hurt my head, like my son opening a bag of potato chips, I couldn't stand the sound.
Months went by and eventually I was able to get dressed, but had to give away my hot tub, couldn't stand the hot water.
Years went by, honestly, years. I gave up the Percoset after 3rd year, but I was on the long lasting Morphine for a long long time. I gave it up myself 18 months ago.
Mostly now the area doesn't bother me, but still a couple times a month I describe it as it screams at me.
When the doctor asked me to describe the pain whern it was at it's worse, I said this, " It's llike I have millions of angy bees inside and they each have razer blades attached to their claws and they are trying to slice out of me" .
There was no Shingles shot when I got it, but my doctor told me to take it last year so it doesn't come back, and I did!
I am thankful for my doctor and modern medicine.
Thank you for your time in reading this.
WOW, what an awful experience! Thank you for taking the time to explain how painful this can be. I bet if anyone was on the fence about getting the shots, they decided to go forward. I think you saved at least one person a LOT of pain.

I had my two shots earlier this year. For the first one, I had a sore arm that lasted for several days. I also just didn't feel well for several days but I still was able to work. It took a lot out of me. When I got the second shot, I had the same reaction but it only lasted a day.
When I get the flu shots or even with all the COVID vaccines I received, I only had some minor pain in my arm for a day. I was surprised I had the reaction I did with the (first) shingles shot.

I got the two-part Shingles vaccine 3 years ago - don't want to mess with Shingles since you can get it in your eyes! YIKES

I just got my second shot.....no reaction to the first one, but holy cow the second one is a real pain. After 5 days,my arm is still swollen, fire red and itchy. Tylenol helps and I have plastered my arm with Lavender for the itching. Small price to pay for not getting shingles, but more "ouchy" than I had expected.
