Re: Safety Goggles for Eye Protection

When i saw the list of what to wear when you go in public i saw goggles or safetly glasses! I have not seen anyone with either of these anywhere I have gone yet.

I ordered some off of Amazon...  If you are wearing a mask... you might as well protect your eyes as the virus goes in through the eyes as well.... I have seen more and more people at the store with both a mask and eye protection.  I am from the Seattle WA area and we are very proactive here.

The only ones I have seen even wearing a mask were all those working in the hospital when we went Friday for our monthly B-12 shots, and the guy that delivers my wife's Schwans food.

I only been out twice, once to the store the other to the hospital, and then the store after our shots. On that same trip stopped and had my 3lb bowl filled with fresh ground Peanut Butter at our health food store.

Haven't seen anyone wearing any eye covering other than sun glasses, and I wear them all the time during the day when out. Except of course when on the ice rink, gotta see clearly, ya know!

I do have goggles I use in the fall when mulching our massive amount of leaves. Depending on the wind direction I am covered with leave dust pretty quickly. I also wear the cheap masks I got from the hospital over the years, but there were none at our Friday hospital visit.

I am not to the point of wearing goggles to the store. Maybe a mask, but my sunglasses are "kinda" wrap around, and I have always worn my garden gloves. Throw 'em in the wash and grab another pair.

Stay safe and well now all, hear!

Re: Safety Goggles for Eye Protection

They are recommending people wear regular glasses instead of contact lenses now. I already had two pairs of the safety glasses in my drawer. I have dry eye disease and used to have to sleep with those on.

@RedTop, unfortunately many of us don't have the option to just stay home. We have responsibilities and/or people depending on us. I would love to not need all the safety gear and just stay home! I can't, period!

@hooked on books

It’s been almost a month since I was in a store. I have not plans of changing that now. I’ll do pickups or order. I’m staying in my car with the windows up (rarely, mostly I am home) or I’m staying home. No plans to add goggles over my sunglasses.

They really are still going on educated guesses. That is the best they can do because this is new. Educated guesses are not always correct, as we are seeing now.

Re: Safety Goggles for Eye Protection

@willdob3, you are indeed fortunate to have such options to keep you from getting sick. I'm just going to use as many safety precautions as I can (mask, goggles, hand-sanitizer) and pray for the best because I have to venture into the market/pharmacy every week or so. It's me or nobody, sadly. I am getting my cat's food and litter delivered which is great and helps to minimize my time in the store around other people.
