I probably should not have used the word "promote" because the conference my gastroenterologist attended was an academic one, research oriented, not sponsored by any particular drug company. I eat a very healthy diet but have serious digestive issues and I'm trying to get my gut back to a somewhat normal state after having had intestinal MRSA. EnteraGam is an FDA approved food product, as it's called, that aids in digestion. It has been proved safe for children as young as two years old, only contraindicated for those allergic to beef.
My internist confirmed what my gastroenterologist said. The latest research is showing that probiotics don't do all they were expected to do in restoring normal flora to the digestive tract. That's not to say yogurt cultures or acidophilus are bad but they may not do all that people hope they will do. After MRSA my gut was a mess. It's getting better now. The EnteraGam is mostly covered by my insurance company. It's costing me about $30 a month. I can afford that. All I want to do is get well and since diet alone doesn't seem to be enough, I was willing to try this FDA approved product.

I tried to order the Renew Life that was listed at the top in the link provided. Wouldn't let me for some reason. Tried to find it at other sites (Vitamin Shoppe, etc) and the exact ones weren't available...
So I went with NOW brands, was sort of *waitlisted*, but just received today. Will start those.
I do like NOW brand. But always heard that good probiotics should be refridgerated as were the Garden of Life I had been taking.

I have recently spent a fortune on new probiotic supplements. Taking Florastor, Dr O'Hhiras, Garden of Life, and now my face has cleared up. This is an ubexpected plus for my system.
That's awesome results, Loves.
Wanted to add, the NOW brand does need to be refridgerated.
