Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

I'm sorry you didn't get a response you wanted to see. Grab some 2-5 lbs weights and do some shoulder exercises. You can also do a crash diet, but be advised they aren't the healthiest things to do and you'll most likely gain all the weight back plus some. HCG diet is good for short periods of times, but it's super restrictive calories. Atkins, medifast and lemonade fast are also a few other crash diets. I would advise seeing a tailor and seeing if anything can be done too. Good luck!!!

Let's start with the original fitting. What bra did you wear to the fitting? Are you wearing the same bra when you tried it on just now? Every bra is different and puts the girls in various places which can change how a garment looks and zips.

I'd start with taking the dress to a reputable place who can measure you properly for a bra that will get you into the dress properly. That may or may not include an upper body spanx-type of item to go with it.

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

My mother is a great seamstress and has done a lot of sewing both in her younger years and even now at 85. There is a lot an alteration lady can do to fix your problem. If worse comes to worse and you cannot get into it , something could be made to wear over it in a similar material that wouldn't scream too different from the other bridesmaids. Good luck with your weight loss and have fun at the wedding Smile

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

Can you wear some undergarment like SPANX that would help it fit?

Some posters have made unkind remarks to you and for that, I'm sorry. You didn't need that on top of everything else.

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

IF you said the dress zipped but was too tight you MIGHT consider medical wt loss. But if the dress does not zip let's get real, either

1: buy a full body Spanx and find a seamstress (be prepared to spend as much for alterations as you spent on the dress. OR

2: Go back to Davids and explain the problem- see if they can do a search of warehouses and stores for the dress in another size and have it FedEx'ed to you. They may have a sample somewhere in the USA. Buying 2 dresses will be a costly mistake but a lesson learned.

Good luck.

You cannot safely change your size in two weeks. That's not a judgement, it's FACT. You cannot afford to be sick. Eliminate ALL added salt, sugar, grain, and dairy. Eat salad greens, a small amount of olive oil, berries, egg whites, and small portions of nuts. You will lose some weight, but your focus must be on having the dress altered. NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING NASTY TO YOU. You made a mistake, and you must rectify your mistake now. If you consider the facts of your situation to be "putting you down" you should seek your answers for yourself and see how that works out for you. It's time for you to consider how hurt your cousin will be if you DON'T tell her.

Why go on a message board and ask for help. If this is legit just go back to David's and have them take care of it.

Is there such a thing anymore like a ""long lined bra""? I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I hope you get it resolved by the time of the wedding.

Please, if you don't have anything positive to say to me, please don't post at ALL. I feel bad enough. I did try my dress on, and the lady that sized me told me to size down, because the dress fit in some areas too big, and too small across my back. I don't need no one putting me down. Help me if you can, otherwise keep your nasty comments to yourself. Thanks in advance. I think if I focus on my back area for the next few weeks I might be fine. Thanks for the positive posts.

First of all nobody was nasty to you. Second, if the wedding is July 12, you don't have a few weeks. You have 2 weeks. I truly believe your only choice is to find a seamstress. Good luck.

I would take the dress back to David's and see if they can help you. If they can not talk to the bride. You do not want just any seamstress working on your dress.

Re: Please, Please, Please help me...

First, time for panic must be over and its time to be solving the problem. The advice that will serve you best is go to the best alterations tailor your area. They can work wonders. It's even possible to use fabric from the areas that are full or hem to add unseen panels to give a few inches. Then also cut out carbs, sugar, and salt in all possible areas in your diet. You can drop a FEW lbs ...and that never hurts. If all else fails, the advice to get a shrug, earl, etc is great. And get yourself a spanx that will hold in the areas that are tight.Take it with you to the alterations fitting. I know when I am in a panic about something I certainly don't find any "why didn't you,you should have" comments helpful or productive.Ignore those and go get your dress fixed. Then enjoy the wedding!!!
