My 86 year old dad has mild neuropathy. He smoked non-filtered Camel cigarettes up until 2 years ago starting when he was about 13 years old. He had CABG in the early 90's and did well. He had a leaky aortic valve most of his life and had that replaced 2 years ago which is when he quit smoking.

He gets significant swelling in his right foot/ankle area for which the Doctor says to wear compression stockings.

DH has it from permanent nerve damage he suffered as a result of shingles. He takes Lyrica which helps with the flare ups. However, he drops everything he tries to pick up and cannot even button his own shirts.

There is an optional treatment methoed that is Automated Thermal Contrast Therapy.  Search the Web for VORTEQ and it should pull up with information on it.
