Re: Nerve Block For Back Pain

I have so many things wrong with my back that i can only walk about 50 ft without having to sit and take the pressure off.  I've had PT several times, numerous steroid injections and the Radiofrequency Ablation.  All of these things were a total waste of time.  I've seen 3 or 4 neurosurgeons and they've all said surgery wouldn't help me.  I've been treated by two pain management specialists who also were unable to give me any relief.  I've tried all sorts of medications and even opoids didn't help.

I've given up and learned to live with it.  The only stores in which I shop are grocery stores with electric carts.  I also have my own cart which I use for walking the dogs.  If it wasn't for QVC, I'd be nude.

Re: Nerve Block For Back Pain

@Kachina624   I'm so sorry you have such bad problems with your back.  I wish there was something available to help you.  I've taken hydrocodone, and it didn't help me either.  I took it for several years and then quit.  It didn't work any better than Tylenol or ibuprofen, which don't help either.

I've had PT before, too, and it didn't help.  I think the doctor said Medicare requires it before doing the other, and also it could help prevent my Scoliosis from getting worse.  It will be worth doing it for that reason if nothing else.  I will give it a fair chance though.

@NickNack Just curious....did you go ahead with the nerve block? Heart

If so, was it successful?

@World Traveler   Insurance requires that I have physical therapy first, so I'm doing that now.  I've gone three times now.  It hasn't helped yet, but I'm being dilligent about doing the exercises.  I'm planning on doing the nerve block unless I get significant relief from the physical therapy.  I really expect to have the nerve block.

Re: Nerve Block For Back Pain

@NickNack

I wish you well & I hope for a positive outcome with your PT & future nerve procedures.  I hope you finally get relief from the pain.

I know arthritis is difficult to deal with as my SIL has it as well.

@Kachina624

I'm sorry you've been suffering with your pain for so long.  I hope someday there will be a procedure that will help you be pain-free.
