I don't go every year to have my 'wellness check'.  I don't take any Rx drugs and I am basically healthy. I do go every two years and for me that is enough. Unless I feel something needs to be looked at then I try to stay away. I am 62. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Good work @goldensrbest

@SilleeMee...I thought you just posted you had scleroderma?

@Trinity11,

Yes, that is correct. But I don't see a doctor unless there's a need and at this time I don't have any problems. I've been living with scleroderma since 2002. The onset was terrible but gradually my symptoms tapered and are stable. My last wellness visit proved that I am healthy, no meds needed. My next visit is this week. I am looking forward to another good report. Woman Happy

I wish you all my best on receiving a good report @SilleeMee.

@Junebug54 @LizzieInSRQ  My apologies. I was thinking if the OP continued to have her RX filled, both her physician and the pharmacist could have their licenses suspended with such old RX.

Reread her initial post and she indicated that was why she had to go for the appointment. (To get more refills.) There is a check and balance to protect them!

I'm still confused how she received a RX for over 1 1/2 years of meds without any lab work . . . or how the meds lasted so long. Have a feeling that won't be happening again. Her physician will be covering his/her rear end in the future. Glad her A1C is so well and she feels fine.  Smiley Happy

I  had to change insurance, got on medicare, they last year bought aarp,advantage ,plus two doctors i was seen at the medical place left,and were replaced with the one i have now, so that is what happened,i see him in 3 months,then get some blood work done.

The more I read this OP's story the more I doubt it. Doctor's easily control how often they see you by simply only writing Rx for 6 months or a year etc. I think it's all made up.

@SeaMaidenIf you won't go for a base-line mammogram, I hope you are checking your breasts and glands (under arms) for lumps.

In my late 20's I found a small lump, which turned out to be malignant. Fortunately, we lived in Ohio and I found a fabulous surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic who performed a lumpectomy and the follow-up treatments.

Our son was 2 1/2. The fear of not be able to raise him was overwhelming. That's when my husband and I both went for counseling and I received help (meds) for anxiety. Within the next 5-6 years, I found many more lumps (between the annual mammograms). The same surgeon at Cleveland Clinic performed two more lumpectomies.

These surgeries entered into our decision to return to Nebraska and live near our families. More surgeries followed. Never showed up on a mammogram, but I continue to have my annual mammograms! Always will. After those years of surgeries, they ceased as abruptly as the lumps began. Too many moves? Too much stress? Who knows? I thought we were doing so well. Everyday is full of sunshine in my world!

All the best of health. Hopefully, your decision works well for you.

@151949  Your hair would burst into flames if somebody doubted any of your stories (which have been contradictory at times).

I just want to mention ,cinnamon also has side effects, and people taking it ,should really  check with a Dr, before using it.

Why do people feel the need to be rude and mean to people they do not know to assume things, it really does say a lot about a person that does this,something is very off about them.
