@Tinkrbl44 you may want to call Procaps Labs directly and find out if it will be back in stock before it goes on hiatus in April. Smiley Happy

Best of luck!!

@VaBelle35...thanks.  I will take a look at those products.  I am really bad at taking pills on a regular basis.  I would probably just start with the Maximum Joint Effort...

My husband has a-fib...I might see if he woud take the fish oil.  I would love to get him off the blood thinners but his heart rate still flutters so it would be dangerous to not take the meds.

@Mom2Dogs, Omega-3 (the DHA & EPA components of fish oil), K2-MK7, and Turmeric each have slight blood thinning effects so you should run them by your doctor... and hopefully your doctor actually has some knowledge of supplements. -- Of you could run them by your pharmacist if your pharmacist has a knowledge of supplements.

My step-father has a-fib and he takes Omega-3 each day. -- I'm not sure if its the fish oil itself or the Omega-3 portion that has the slight blood thinning effect. If you take a good Omega-3 supplement such as Andrew's or Nordic Naturals you'll have less extra fish oil in with it's Omega-3 (DHA and EPA) component.

I get 1,000mg of Omega-3 in Andrew's Elite multivitamin. -- Then I supplement with Nordic Naturals Omega-3 in their liquid bottle version (it's much ess expensive because they aren't putting the Omega-3 into capsules).

Best of luck!!! Smiley Happy

@VaBelle35, you are a very impressive woman. I'm overawed.

I use Andrew's Vitamin Calculator to figure out the total amount of each ingredient that I'm taking... but I stop there. -- You've set a really high bar. *s*

Andrew will also be doing the Monday Night Show, so we get extra Andrew this weekend.

There is an Ask Andrew page on the HSN site if you want to submit a question (that he wont' answer LOL).

@VaBelle35, thanks for sharing that. I wasn't sure if Andrew would be doing another of his monday night shows (and this time I'll be able to watch it!!). Do you know what time it's scheduled for.

For some reason, he is never quite clear in these blogs as to whether the TS is a bundle or he's added it to the product.  It sounds like he added more D to the Essential 1, but it's not clear.

I guess we'll know as soon as the preview goes up.

@VaBelle35, I used Andrew's vitamin calculator and compared his three Essential-1 products:

* Essential-1 with 1,500 IU of Vitamin D3 (always available)

* Essential-1 with 3,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (always available)

* Essential-1 with 2,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (Today's Special value foe 3/5/17)

Except for the Vitamin D3 levels, the levels for all of the other ingredients are exactly the same in all three formulas.

I just placed my order for the 400 count Essential 1 TS. It's not a bundle. He added in the D3-2000 to each capsule.

I was hoping that I would have a choice since I already have D3-2000 that I am taking.

Ladies that are ordering early be careful. I called my order in and I paid the price that was listed on the screen during the pre-sale event and on his little recorded spiel. The price listed if you go into   the actual item is not correct. Sorry, I can't be more specific but I do not wish for QVC to delete my post.

@icezeus, you should be fine with that level of Vitamin D3. -- On a number of occasions, Andrew has mentioned that, in the summer, your body can absorb 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (from the sunlight) in about 10-15 minutes (assuming you don't wear sunscreen).

He feels that it's safe to take up to that much Vitamin D3 in supplement form daily. -- On a personal note, in the cold of the winter, I take 9,000 IU of Vitamine D3 daily and have done so for the past 5-6 years. I supplement with D3 more because I'm overweight. D3 is fat soluble and gets sequestered in my body fat especially around my omentum (stomach area). -- I've never had an issue with taking this much D3.

Andrew has mentioned that while D3 is one of the most important vitamins, that it's also probably the least expensive one for him to purchase. -- Becasue of that, and because so many people dont' get enough D3, Andrew has a habit of adding D3 to a number of his key supplements (e.g. adding Dfor the first time  to his COQ10 special last October).

It looks like they fixed the pricing but the only option is added D3?

No option to purchase the original formula without the added D3 at the TSV price?

@Snowpuppy, D3 is so inexpensive for Andrew to purchase, that the extra added D3 is a negligible cost in terms of pricing... so reducing the D3 would not have given you a price break.

His show, his pricing.

Another retailer who tells you what product you should want.

I don't get why there is no choice?

@Snowpuppy, honestly I don't think Andrew is trying to tell you wehat to do here. Here are the issues (as I see them):

* when a TS is offered, I'm sure that HSN doesn't want to have to deal with a number of different variables. It's more complicated for them and it can create confusion for newer customers. Frequently having to make decisions between formulas means that customers put off these decisions and forget to purchase later in the day... which means lost sales for HSN.

* From Andrew's perspective, withine the HSN parameters, he's trying to make the best product for his consumers. -- And his can give the best pricing when he's dealing with economies of scale.

How much is too much Vitamin D3? I have his Vitamin D3-2500; I have COQ10 w/2000 D3. this Essential has 2000 D3. My levels are fine at the moment & I have been taking 4500-5000iu. Wondering if an additional 2000 be too much? Essential 1 is my must have, may have to alternate on vitamin d3 in take if it's too much. Hope he has the larger size bottles, DH & I share.

For myself, I take more vitamin D3 than the average person because I'm overweight and the body sequesters Vitamin D in fat. So I have to take more vitamin D3 to make sure enough of it winds up in the prefrontal cortex of my brain, in my fast twitch muscles (which help prevent falls) and in that big old muscle (my heart). Smiley Happy

For the past 4-5 winters, I've been taking around 9,000 IU of Andrew's D3 daily. I get some of the D3 from his other supplements (e.g. COQ10 TSV and his Elite multi-vitamins), then supplement the rest with his Vitamin D3 specific supplements. -- In the spring and fall I take 5,000-6,000 IU daily. -- I don't generally wear sunscreen in the summer because I have medium skin color and don't burn. If I know that I'll be outside during a summer day, then I'll probably just go with whatever Vitamin D I'm getting in Andrew's various other supplements I'm taking (and not take any specific Vitamin D3 supplements).

If I wasn't overweight, I'd probably be taking 4,000-6,000 IU daily in the cold winters (where the sun is less intense and provides less of an opportunity for the body to make vitamin D). -- In the spring and fall, I'd take 4,000 IU daily. And in the summer, I'd take it on a day by day basis.

For those wondering how much to take, Andrew has often recommended having one's Vitamin D levels checked and I'd say it is probably good to do that, see where your levels are and talk to your doctor before deciding how much D3 you need.  I know when my levels were normal and I was still taking about 3500IU daily, my doctor felt that was too much.  I believe Andrew takes 4000-6000IU but he also says 1000-2000IU is sufficient for most people (which is probaby why he had 1500IU previously and 2000IU currently in the Essential 1).  Since he has been putting D3 in multiple products, I stopped buying it on its own.

HI @sueinsf

It's good to see you around here. I hope life is treating you well. Smiley Happy

I just wanted to mention that Andrew feels that between 2,000 IU and 4,000 IU of Vitamin D3 is what he recommends for the average person who is of normal weight.

Some factors that would lead people to take more than this include:

* being overweight -- D3 gets sequestered in body fat

* being darker skinned -- the body absorbs less sunlight and so makes less vitamin D3 from the sunlight that it absorbs

* being elderly -- as we age, it gets more difficult for people to absorb their supplements. That said, after taking Andrew's Essential-1 of three weeks, my mom's D3 level was 30 (which doctors consider normal... though Andrew feels it should be much higher). And my mom's B-12 was 992 (normal is within the 500-1,000 range).

* probably a compromised immune system would make it more difficult to absorb supplements.

No Cholestacare TS this year, just the March Special.

I buy the Cholestacare/Fibermucil packets on auto delivery.  If my math is correct, that is still a good value.

If you buy the March special and the cholestacare on special, it's a $36 per year savings.

This one has made my head spin for a few years.  LOL  It's division and averaging.

@VaBelle35, lol, tahnks so much for all your head spinning work... so I can avoid it. -- I'm good at math, but my head also spins when I have to do that comparison.

My total cholesterol is about 135 (65 good HDL), but my mom's LDL is on the borderline so I'm going to pick up the Cholestacare for her and see if se can get her off her statins.

The CholestaCare monthly special looks like a great value. -- I may even convince my sister to try it and add in Andrew's Oatbran. Smiley Happy
