I have been so bad. Between a fall cruise and the holidays, I have packed on an additional 10 pounds. Ugh.
Started better eating yesterday. Also did a brisk 30 minute walk in the cold and today did Pilates (love Pilates - feels so gooooood to stretch - and I also worked the arm muscles).
One day at a time.

Hi, Dagna, welcome! We hear ya...many of us kinda blew it during the holidays and are now getting back on track. Like you, one day at a time, I'm getting back into better living. The party is over!
Hi, Bopper. Since Exercise TV shut down, we don't have any exercise programming on our On Demand. It's good that you take advantage of it.
Patty, I reread the article you told us about a few days ago...the one about the importance of eating enough calories. Dang. I really need to deal with that. I've known for years that I don't eat enough, and LA got on me about that. I'm going to try to do better.

Hi Dagna...and welcome! Everyone has ups and downs, even professional athletes.
nomless, I'm doing a "you" today....cooking up a bunch of veggies, fish, chicken, etc., so we have it on hand and dh has clean food for work.
You're not alone, for some reason, women really have trouble with that and I used to fall victim to it myself. Weight training, seeing the changes in my body and measuring my body-fat got me out of it. I ate more than I ever ate in my life(obviously healthy food) and was the leanest I'd ever been...even over being 18 years old and size 0. If you notice athletes or people with low body-fat percentages, they always eat well and most do not count calories.
My one gf used to drive me crazy...she was always on me about how thin I was(thinner than now so don't think I'm bragging...lol) and that she can't lose weight no matter what. I would tell her until I was blue in the face that she didn't eat enough. She couldn't do it, she would not accept that eating more would make her lose weight. Fast-fwd because the story would be too long, but it has finally clicked for her.
She is the leanest she has ever been and said she eats twice as much as she used to eat, just much healthier, lower glycemic, more protein, etc. She kept trying to run and do the stairs with me at this place a lot of people run at and she'd poop out and couldn't figure out why she didn't have the energy to keep up and would say, "I'm just not a runner". Wrong answer!
Now she is running races and is leaner than she has ever been in her life.
She also leads a chapter of GOTR(Girls on the run) which is a fantastic program if anyone is interested in getting involved with that!

And p.s...yes, I remember LA Trainer getting on you about eating more.

Very interesting story about your GF, Patty. I'm exactly where she was. It's so difficult to eat MORE when I'm fat on what I eat now.
