Does anyone have any experience with this membership? Our insurance is changing and prescription copays are going up. Does it cost money to join and have you found it useful for saving money? I've read the details on their website but would love to hear from anyone with first hand experience. Thanks in advance

I am on a Medicare Advantage Plan, and use this for one drug that is not covered by my insurance. Not sure how much experience that is. GoodRx saves me from having to pay full price for a particular drug that I need to use and fill at a retail pharmacy. And no, there is no fee.

It's free. I've checked all my prescriptions and what I pay with my insurance is much less than what I'd pay using Good RX. I did find it handy when buying meds for my dogs. You can go to their website and input your meds for prices.

@GenXmuse, I have used it a few times and I didn't join anything. I got the app on my phone, looked up my medication, found prices for where it would be cheaper and I went there and showed it to the pharmacist. Unfortunately, one pharmacist wouldn't give it to me for the quoted price but they gave it to me at a cheap price. Good RX says to call them if the pharmacist refuses to honor the price and I could have done that, but it was late and I just wanted to get the medication and get home. I don't know what would have happened had I called.
My sister-in-law had surgery and my brother was going to get her a prescription. I asked him if he had heard of Good RX. He said he didn't have time to get something online. I explained how you didn't do that and how it worked. He texted me later and told me I saved him $100 by telling him about it. It's definitely worth a look. Unless they changed it, it doesn't cost a thing to download the app and put in your script to see what the prices are quoted to be.

I've used it for a script that wasn't covered by my prescription plan.

Thanks everyone for the information. I'm not sure if I'm old enough to qualify for senior discount programs yet, so I'll definitely look into this. I'm glad there isn't a fee associated with the membership at least so will comparison shop and see if I can shave off some of the cost.

@Kachina624 Not sure how much you're paying for your dog's meds, but have you checked into a Canadian pharmacy? I know when Sambo was first diagnosed with asthma we were looking at using an inhaler which a lot of cat owners use for that. The Flovent is prohibitively expensive in the States and my vet at the time suggested a Canadian pharmacy. I did get one inhaler from them and the cost was a LOT less than US prices which is in the $300 range pre inhaler.
I was never able to get him to even accept the mask, so we gave up on that and just kept him on the prednisolone and putting him in the box for breathing treatments when needed. He didn't seem to have a problem at all with the box. His prednisolone wasn't that expensive and I got it from a compounding phamacy chosen by my vet (Wedgewood) that specializes in pet meds, so it was quite palatable. He wasn't particularly pleased about taking his meds, but he never fought me.

@GenXmuse I have Medicare and an excellent supplemental plan and I've been using Good Rx for a year.
I have saved a TON of $$$$. Most times, except for once or twice, my Rx's were a lot cheaper with Good Rx than with my insurance.
