Re: Dress code for retail pharmacies

One of my best nursing friends is Goth.

She’ll also save your life as she works in critical care.

Re: Dress code for retail pharmacies

I don't care at all about their hair color, I just care that they do their jobs reasonably well. I get my prescription mailed because I don't want to deal with the lines.

A person with blue, pink, purple hair and tattoos and piercings might save your life some day, actually. You never know.

Has this changed? Was in one yesterday and one of the techs had blue hair.

@Group 5 minus 1 Do you mean the actual pharmacists or "other people" who work behind the pharmacy counter?  There is a difference.  The pharmacist usually wears a white lab coat (for the most part).  That's one way to distinguish them from other pharmacy staff.  Every person behind the pharmacy counter isn't a pharmacist.

It's a tricky and unnecessary subject matter as to people's choice of hair color.  It would be akin to discriminating against people who have textured hair.  Just be good at your job.

I didn't know that pharmacies ever had a "dress code" for hair color. What possible difference does one's hair color make?

None.  None at all.

Re: Dress code for retail pharmacies

@gertrudecloset Thanks. I understand the diff. between techs and RPHs,however techs do have to take tests to be registered.

Yes, pharmacies were VERY strict about dress codes. Also for men no facial hair.

Re: Dress code for retail pharmacies

Schools of Pharmacy now require their graduates to have 6 years of study and graduate w/a degree in doctor of pharmacy. I know that this is OT,but just wanted to say.
