Does anyone here get Rituxan infusions for rheumatoid arthritis ??

I just started my first series of infusions and wonder about side effects and results. I did not feel well for a few days.

Thanks

I hope you get some response from others with RA Rituxan patients,

My experiences with Rituxan have been very positive but, for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  (3 different times, 1998, 2001 & 2006. Each time was weekly for a month.)

The first couple of days after each first infusion each time, it felt a little

as though I was coming down with a mild cold or flu.

I did have some fatigue throughout the course, especially the first set of infusions when I had a lot of tumour reduction that the body had to process which added to the tiredness.  Later times, I had fewer and smaller tumours and much less tiredness.

Wishing you all the best with your Rituxan treatment.

I am not now on Rituxan but was on it for RA for about a year back in 2012-2013. I recall that I was more closely monitoried during the infusion than other infused RA meds and I did have an incident of light-headedness during one of my initial infusions. Couldn't sleep the night after infusions because of the high dose of prednisone given to counteract reactions during the infusion. Otherwise, I didn't have any side effects. It didn't work for me, but neither did anything else. I tried them all.

When Xeljanz was approved in 2013 I started that and it has been a godsend! I have lots and lots of damage from 40 years of RA, but Xeljanz keeps current inflammation and fatigue under control. Bonus - it's a pill.

I hope Rituxan works for you!
