I have read thst if you start dabbing coconut oil on a cold sore when you first get one or can feel one it will get rid os it due to coconuts anti bacterial componets , I haven't had a cold sore yet but i am going to try that , I have tried abreva and that did not work,

@Noel7 and everyone, I keep a tube of this handy when I feel a cold sore coming.  It's very convenient & like Chapstick..

When I first started using Abreva it didn't work very well, but I think they changed their formula because it works well for me now.
