@CalminHeart Poor baby! I hope everything goes well and you have a speedy recovery.  Seems your foot moved and hits everything as I remember!   I did that once (not to your level) but spent the summer mostly on crutches and wearing a fuzzy blue houseshoe to work!!!!!!  But boy did it hurt!

Also broke a toe and people would say oh I just wore my regular shoes and it didn't really bother me. Not sure I believed that, but then mine was split down the middle with lots of bone shards.  Doc winced when he saw the x-ray.  Knew right then I was in trouble.

Hope and pray your recovery goes great!!!!!

@CalminHeart OOOOWWWW im so sorry! That was probably very scary when it happened.  I hope you werent alone.  I hope the pain subsides soon.

I broke my right foot. I got a regular cast up to just below my knee and had to drive a stick shift!  I can't remember how I even did that.

This was in 1996.  I would've love to have had a removable boot for showering,

Get well soon.

@CalminHeart  sorry to hear about your foot. About 4 years ago I broke my ankle and foot.  Went to Er and they put me in a boot.

I coud not handle it.  It was heavy and my thin foot was sliding around and quite swollen.  I told Doctor I can't do this.

So first off they put me in a splint, strap on and strap off at night. This was to position the foot and ankle.  Then I purchased a knee scooter.  They are great to get around and have a basket n front!  My boyfriend put it together for me in about half an hour.

Second problem was stairs.  I don't know if you have them.   But left my little bike by the stairs, hopped off, and did the old heave ho backward up to stairs one by one.  My arms never looked so strong after a month. lol.

I still have pain once in a while but thats life. I wish you well, but the knee scooter was a life saver.  I could cook and do so many things.  At the end I was racing it around the rooms downstairs.

Yes, that boot is heavy!!!  I'm glad yours healed.

The swelling has gone down a lot.  I'm using one crutch or a cane now. My entire foot was bruised and it's starting to fade. I still can't get into a shoe but I can get into my low low Uggs since they're wide anyway.  It's 18 degrees here so Uggs are a good.

@CalminHeart  good to hear and it's progress! I didn't trust the crutches and used the cane also.  It helps so much.

Oh one of my breaks was onn the fot as well.  In my experience when is used it swelled up  and next morning went down again.  Up and down.

Everyone is different and I hope you are 100 percent soon.  I find I am much more careful than I used to be and the slightest twist and I still feel it in my ankle.

Hapoy Thanksgiving as best you can.Heart
