I've used SuPrep for my last 2 colonoscopies...that stuff is nasty sweet, especially for the amount required. I'm going to ask for something different next time, which will be in 5 years.

Glad you got through it @tends2dogs.
This is the same prep I use. I am the one who stops eating all fiber 4 days before. I eat white bread and butter, white pasta, lmashed potatoes, ice cream, etc but lighter and lighter as each day passes.
I have acid reflux and stomach issues so I cannot drink the whole gallon miralax prep. I drink half. I take the pills at 1 pm and then start drinking around 2:30 pm. I drink the half, and I only go a few times before I am clear because of less food number one for 4 days and secondly "no fiber" rich food's.
It works. Doctor says I'm always clean too when I have the procedure the next morning.

@chrystaltree wrote:Seems like a lot but it's certainly better than that gallon jug of Golytely. I didn't have some issues with the smaller, 2 drinks. I had to will myself to keep it down. The salty taste was the problem. I had polyps removed last week so I need a new other colonoscopy in a year. I'll ask for the pills. That requires a lot of water but it won't be salty so I can do that.
@chrystaltree The MiraLax with the Gatorade was not salty, but it was extremely sweet. I did a half and half mix with the Gatorade and sparkling lemonade. I also only used 40 oz, not 56. I drank water and broth throughout the day so I wasn't afraid of becoming dehydrated. It was doable.
Sorry to hear you have to repeat in a year, but it is something we have to do to keep on top of things. I have to repeat in 5 years.

@KathyM23 wrote:I used the Miralax/Ducolax prep this time. I cannot drink Gatorade and my Dr. said it was OK for me to do it with water. It was easy. Had to do again in the AM of the test, but could not finish the entire amount. Dr. said if things were running clear, I did not have to drink the entire amount in the AM.
I was clear and only did less than half in the AM. Dr. has no issue with the colonoscopy and the images were clear for dianogtics.
Easy prep this time.
There you go, @KathyM23 . Mixing with water would just taste like water, right? That is doable.
This may help others to try this prep next time.

@Pink123 Eating light prior really isn't hard for me either. That is how I usually eat. I was fairly cleaned out before the second round. This will be my choice going forward.

I just pulled out my instructions and it said the MiraLax could be mixed with gatorade, propel, pedialyte, or vitamin water. No red, purple, or dark blue.
Also, I used the store brand of MiraLax.

I agree with you @tends2dogs. With this light eating your not even hungry on prep day.
I don't even do round 2 at alll. I just take a relaxant and go to bed at 8 pm as I'm usually first and have to be at hospital which is very far now at 5:30 am.
If we all would slow down on eating and fiber it is not hard at all.
I don't do round 2 because I'm clean early on and it only dehydrates me unnecessarily. You know what I mean. Then I get too weak in the morning.

When I had my first one in 2005, met with the gastro doc first for consult, first thing I said to him was, if you tell me I need to drink a gallon of a foul liquid, I am leaving now. he laughed and said, NO ! I have had 2 now and used pills both times.

The last time I had a Colonoscopy I had to prep with Miralax and Dulcolx. My problem is I can't stand the taste of Gatorade. All I taste is salt.
I have to schedule one soon. I'd rather not eat any solids for a week than drink Gatorade.
I can get cleaned out by eating something with gluten in it.
@tends2dogs I am glad every thing went well for you. I hope I have a positive experience too.
I am scheduled for cataract surgery next week....oh joy.

My first one was GoLightly. No way I can drink all that liquid. Second one was MiraLax/Dulcolax combo but my instructions were different. Threre was no getting up in the middle of the night to take anything. However, the amount of liquid required in the amount of time given I just can't do. And all of the beverage choices are too sweet and I like sweet. I tried and eventually threw up. I won't do that again. Next time I'll slow it down and dilute the beverage so it's not so sickeningly sweet.
