Hi everyone & a big hello to Dorothy & Ms Scoots Smile

Well my friends, another challenge has been successfully been put behind me as of Monday. I'm making progress accomplishing things slow but sure. Saturday a wonderful group of people (BB&G) who have a facebook site for Buffalo Sabres fans that Dave belonged to are having a get together to honor Dave and the General Manager of the Sabres might actually come himself. After Dave passed away, one of the guys from the group contacted Ted Black (GM of the Sabres) and at the game on December 29th (which Ryan & Sarah attended) they put on the scoreboard..... In Memoriam of Dave (last name). I was also presented with a puck used in the Dec 29th game along with a letter from Ted Black himself on behalf of the Buffalo Sabres Organization expressing their condolences to me & my family for our loss. The BB&G have also had a still shot of Dave's name on the scoreboard as a background on their facebook page from the moment they learned of Dave's passing. Ryan and Sarah are also having their "Gender Reveal" party on Saturday and we will find out the s*x of the baby when they cut into a cake which will be either blue or pink inside.

Rebecca ~ please forgive me, I knew there was an upcoming surgery for you but couldn't remember if it was your knee or foot that was going to be first.

Naes ~ I hope everything is well with you. I'm sorry I still haven't got to sending an email yet, it is on my list of things to do.

Sending warm wishes & love to all.....

Hi lobstergal,

The Sabres are one class act. I'm so glad they're creating some wonderful lasting memories for you. You can't put a price on that! Hope everyone that you really want at the gathering on Saturday is there for you.

And, the reveal party! Now how exciting is that! I saw this done on "Cake Boss" and guess it's really caught on. I know I'd love to have one if I were expecting. Sounds are though your Saturday is going to be one special day.

I'm really, really happy for you in that it appears that you have moments/days where you have the chance to be in a better space. What a blessing that is. May life continue to provide moments and days of light and well-being.

God Bless - Rebecca

"D", what a wonderful 'SALUTE' to your Dave, How very great this husband of yours had to be. I can NOT appreciate such a loving gentleman, as Dave was, and never knowing him, personally~ You need not be concern with making a list in getting anything to me as "I DO" and being sorry, never. I understand. If we want to laugh at anything, let it be me, ---"I haven't caught up with the photos+letter to you, yet". IT'S BEEN ONE OF THOSE WEEKS STARTING FROM LAST SATURDAY. Believe it or not, I'm making a run for it by friday, and hopefully by saturday I can turn my thinking around to somewhat normal. MEMO: as you know I have to watch diets around here with a sneaky husband who loves salty food, so I cut him some slack, down to 99%. `Hah, also, we ordered, then waited for the longest time (of course it was 5 days) to receive an arm blood pressure monitor. State of the art product. It has a patient "A" and a patient "B" on it. Well, the darn thing was working for patient "B", then the OK [BOX] went haywired on PATIENT "A", which I use both for JUST him, now the whole contraption gave the crazy read out for each arm and both patient modes. Had to call and actually WAIT to have someone sent a return label without any address on it, just a SKU#. We should, if lucky hold out, receive a duplicate EXCHANGE by the next 2 days. I have to keep that level in tact, not going very high. After this one comes, I'll be taking mine!!!!!!!!!! I run (usually) a very low pressure, so this should be one fun entire day taking each other's blood pressure all - D A Y -long. Oh, can you guess where it's made?-------------RIGHT!
Waiting for the gender REVEAL. I think-IT'S a~ ..ain't gonna tell 'ya. ...just me... HELLO to EVERY ONE!

Hi naes - Her shiny hair secret is mostly due to Avoderm brand food. It has even made her hair longer. It was pretty before I started using it but it's even better now. I guess you'll have to start sampling it...{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

So sorry Cream is still missing. We keep saying prayers he'll come home. I have also heard of cats (& dogs) missing for long periods of time & they show up again. Here's keeping hope alive!{#emotions_dlg.tt1}

Hi Dorothy,

Thanks so much for the kind greetings and graphics. They're so cute and wonderful! I especially liked the gender reveal one. I bet that's going to be one exciting party for lobstergal's DS and DIL.

So nice to hear about Ms Scoots, too. Since we had to put down our 19 year old Bumese female last year, we are now cat-less for the first time in our 45 year marriage. So, it's now even more wonderful to read of others furbabies. Hope Ms Scoots is doing OK.

And hope you're doing OK as well.

God Bless - Rebecca

Oh! Every time I see this I have to post. OK, so yesterday I got a call from my Endochrolologist (sp) (Thyroid Dr) that I needed to come in immediately (that day). I hauled myself there and he said, "Your thyroid must come out"!

Actually 1/2 of my thyroid will be removed. I'm not having it done until maybe June because my youngest daughter (an adult) must also (she found out yesterday where she lives) that her thyroid needs to be removed (1/2 of it also) I will go to be with her first.

A few weeks ago after an MRI I was told that both kneecaps are bone on bone. There is no longer any pading on them.

Phew! Now I'm depressed. I'm going to go sit down!

Hi Everyone,

Went to the doctor yesterday to talk about a second anemia which was recently diagnosed: iron deficiency anemia. Geez, I've been cutting down on certain purine-filled foods because they raise my serum uric acid level, which is not good for my kidneys and end up anemic. I just don't want to go into the 5/12 surgery anemic. But my doc said not to worry. However, when I got home, I told DH that I wanted to have steak twice a week, regardless of the purines. (I'm eating so healthy now it's ridiculous.) I hope that will make a bit of a difference. My red blood cells are also low. Don't know if that is age related or if something else is causing it. Will have to wait on that.

***

Our granddaughter is being introduced to solid food. No rice cereal for her, per DD. She is given sticks of food like slightly steamed carrots, sweet potato, raw red bell pepper, raw cucumber, raw cantelope and the like. Over the weekend, DD and SIL were having eggs, toast and bacon for breakfast, so gave DGD a piece of bacon that she could hold onto. She really, really enjoyed that bacon, as in who wouldn't! Didn't really eat it, but s-cked on it until she got all the goodness out of it.

When DD brought DGD over for daycare of Tuesday, she said she had not had a bm for 3 days, so I suggested she purchase organic baby prunes. So DD went to Whole Foods and purchased one jar. Boy did that work!!! Just as we returned DGD yesterday, humongous success all over the place. They call it a "blow-out." Well, I'd better stop with this kind of grandma talk.

***

I'm still sick with this bug. Ran it by the doc yesterday and she said it's one of those that takes 3 weeks to run it's course. Really, I feel no better than last week and am not able to get much of anything done. Hope you've all been able to pass this one by. It's been quite some time since I've had a bug like this.

There are 12 more pounds I must lose before my total knee on 5/12 (and this inactivity isn't helping one bit). Also need to be able to get my wedding ring off and am close to it. Hopefully in the next 10 days I'll be able to get it off or else they'll cut it off at the hospital. If I have to, I'll try the dental floss trick.

Hope you've having a decent day, the sun is out and temps are rising.

God Bless - Rebecca

Hi Everyone,

Hope you're having a good Friday. I'd like to ask for your prayers regarding a new development. DH has applied for a GI loan so that we can purchase a house.

Honestly, I didn't think this would ever happen, as we had previously, under complex conditions, lost our ability to purchase a house, after losing money on the sale of our executive home during a huge drop in the economy (we ended up owing the bank, as did nearly everyone who sold a house at that time). Add to that DH's loss of employment for a number of years. So, we've been renting since 2002 (but, had always owned).

I just hope this can happen in a way so that we don't have to put major bucks into a house that hasn't had any upgrades since it was built.

Would appreciate all good thoughts and prayers.

Our weather is looking up and hope yours is too. The weekend looks pretty good, with rain moving back in mid-week. Hope your days are bearable and that nights blessed with more sleep. Today I'm coughing less and am a bit less congested, so maybe this virus is beginning to be on its way out. Amen!

God Bless - Rebecca
