Rebecca, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick. I think it's being around Grandchildren. I tell you, when I was taking care of DGD, I was sick most of the time. Now I get sick only about every 6 months or so. That's a good thing because the last two times I've ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. I'm trying to stay out of that place.
I've been trying to catch up with all my work around here. It's just ridiculous! The yard work, house work, glass work and the Gallery. I just don't have enough time. I just don't know how I worked those unbelievable hours I used to work. Well....I guess I was younger. Now I need 10 hours sleep a night.
annabellethecat, my family has the same problem with thyroid. Everybody in my family has problems with it, except me. I guess I was spared. I wish you luck with your and your DD's surgery.

Hi annabellethecat,
I'm really sorry to hear about your thyroid challenge requiring surgery and that of your DD as well. Will keep you and your daughter in my prayers for successful outcomes and no complications. I hope that the removal of half of the gland will truly be the solution for both of you.
And, your knees must really be barking at you! I'm scheduled for a TKA on 5/12, left knee, so am readying for it this month. Went out today to purchase some inexpensive polyester slacks so that I can cut off the left leg of the pants to a short length. Learned this from several ladies on the Health and Fitness Forum. So now it's onto additional comfort items.
Take care, take nice cleansing breaths and God Bless you in your present challenges.
~Rebecca

Am itching to know: was the cake pink or blue?

Hi everyone,
The reveal party was cute, they had a long table that was decorated half with all kinds of blue things - cups, plates, napkins, candy, etc and a pink table with the same. When we arrived we had to pick a "team" and take either a little mustache pin or a pink ribbon pin and clip it on our shirt. There was a whole lot more but too much to explain. Almost everyone but me & about 5 other people picked the mustache " blue" team. Ryan picked the pink ribbon and Sarah picked the mustache and.......

lobstergal,
I do believe we're all rejoycing in the fact that Ryan and Sarah are going to have a baby girl and that our prayers will help this wee one into the world.
Hooray for baby girls!

Hello dear Dawn, I am so sorry that I was late for the Gender [Reveal] party. A precious little girl~ How wonderful~ I have spoken to one friend in particular, on another subject, two days ago, then signed off. I have to admit I felt as though I was there-after you described a brief description of somewhat `THAT ` would entail. I also searched back a few minutes ago when I had posted about another party, referring to an upcoming event.. for Glass/with the pictures. They are deleted, now- but I have at the bottom of my post, "does anyone have a PINK candle"; wondering where my thoughts were when I printed that? I will be in touch very soon. ('B') ,,,,,,,,,,,always best wishes and many loving thoughts of healing. I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU, YOUR SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW.

Quiet day today. I took care of my sister's little Yorkie. He and my dog had such fun. They wore themselves out.
My doctor is leaving for Washington soon. I don't know why she's leaving the area but I got a new doctor in town here. It will be a 3 minute drive. It seems like th older I get, the less I want to leave town, let alone my house.

Hi everyone,
I haven't been feeling well the past few days, I think my busy weekend wore me out. Also been feeling down since I got the news on Friday that there will be an appeal in my case. According to my attorney this process will take months to resolve, so here I go again playing the waiting game....seems to be the story of my life.
Glass ~ that party was just to find out if the baby is a boy or girl.....there will be a shower in June and I just learned that I am in charge of invitations so I need to get busy!
Naes ~ I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a girl! I would be thrilled either way but I need granddaughters to pass my jewelry and other girly things down too!
Rebecca ~ hope your feeling much better since our last communication. Can you believe that it was 70 degrees here all weekend then it snowed again on Mon & Tues? It's ridiculous! Speaking of baby girls, how is the food thing going with your GD....is she taking well to eating regular foods? I know you had some concerns about that. I know Sarah is going to breastfeed but I don't know what she will do when it's time for food. I fed Ryan store bought baby food but that was the norm back then and I didn't have time or money to make my own. I would consider buying them a Vitamix if I knew they would buy the fruits & veggies and use it to make baby food. I wonder about vaccines too because there are all the claims about how they can cause things like autism, etc. I don't know if there is any truth to it but it definitely worries me.

lobster, please watch Dr. Oz's program from today. or maybe yesterday, about vaccinations. The study they did about autism was refuted later. Like Dr. Oz said, "I wouldn't want my children to get polio or any of the other diseases they can get.
I knew people who have had some of the diseases that are preventable now. My brother is deaf from the mumps. My best childhood friend never walked again, from polio. That was after she got out of an iron lung that breathed. Believe me we are fortunate to be able to ward off the scourge of communicable disease today.
I just recently got a shingles shot. I saw my husband suffer from it. I lived in dread fear of it.
I'm so excited for you. Granddaughters are so special. I have 4 of them. I just wish they wouldn't grow up so fast.
