@NickNack

No doctor recommended it. My brother-in-law had Esophageal Cancer and had surgery that kept him alive for many years. After seeing what he suffered through, even though I had no symptoms, I went to the same Gastro Group as my wife.

She was having symptoms, but they found nothing in her Endo. Told her about what not to eat for dinner if she went to bed within 5 hours of when she ate. That helped her a whole lot with her GERD symptoms.

I could not believe the list they gave me of my issues. I thought for sure they had my results mixed up with another patient. Nope, and I listed them in my 1st post.

I was put on the Nexium X 2 per day, and I had and Endo every 3 months for a year. Since that seemed to not cause my Gastro any alarm, I got them every 6 months for many years. They would do a biopsy with each procedure. I then went to once a year for many years. After the Endo I had in October 2015, I am now trying one every 2 years.

Yes, I am lucky, and had it not been for my brother-in-law having Esophageal Cancer? It could have been my silent killer.

 Thankfully, no but after reading the comments it all seems to come down to avoiding certain foods.

@AuntG

The foods I ate had absolutely nothing to do with my diagnosis. As I said in at least 2 of my other posts in this thread. "Barrett's Esophagus can be yet another Silent Killer".

To each be their own.

Thanks for the explanation @hckynut.  That's very scary that you might not have known until it was too late.
