@tashy the Marine Collagen Peptides (MCP) help to keep your collagen matrix nice and neat... much like symetrical structure of a window screen. -- Collagen also helps with your joints.
In contrast the biotin (in the Healthy Hair, Skin & Nails) is an important structural component of your integumentary system (your skin). In other words, your skin needs biotin to be able to grow more skin effectively (and your skin is always growing). Biotin is a necessary cofactor for healthy skin.
From my perspective, the biotin (from the Healthy Hair, Skin & Nails) is a necessary ingredient for skin growth and repair.
In contrast, the MCP is more of a niche ingredients. It makes your skin look "prettier" and helps with your joints. -- That said, if you are looking for a key joint ingredients, I think that Glucosamine/Chondroitin (G&C) would be the first supplement you would want to invest in. G&C is also on special sale this weekend (large size is $85, down from the regular $100).
MCP is of interest but, personally, I'd only spend my money there after I had purchased other basic supplements and still had money left over to purchase MCP.
You may want to read through the Supplements - which supplements do you take thread to get a better sense of what people feel are the most important supplements. -- My supplement & Andrew Lessman journey info are in the first two posts. ![]()
Does that help?

Hi. Just wanted to vote in favor of the marine collagen peptides. I've been using this since maybe last March or April (before it was a TS, I bought several of the 120 servings sizes and took 2 scoops a day in my morning coffee). It has DEFINITELY made a difference. I had knee replacement surgery and had a great result, but stairs were still difficult especially going down. I could only do one at a time. After taking AL's MCP for maybe about 2 months I just noticed that stairs had become easier. Nothing else changed so I figured it had to be this supplement. It just sort of dawned on me. The change was gradual but definite. This was maybe 8 months post-surgery so I think it's safe to say the easier time with stairs wasn't due to rehab. It was this supplement. As to benefiting my skin, well, I've always had decent skin but it is a bit more soft and clear.
Ive bought both TS's of this product. I bought 2 of the first version without the MSM and then bought 2 yesterday with the MSM. It will be interesting to see what/if there's a difference. I've only ever taken Lessman's so can't comment on other brands.
Yes it's an investment but I'm sold on the effectiveness.
I put 2 scoops in my morning coffee, stir it up well. Sometimes it doesn't dissolve quite as well as most of the other times, but that doesn't matter to me. I don't detect a taste (but I add milk to coffee so maybe that's why).
One thing, HSN messes around with product reviews. They shouldn't post reviews to the MSM version when it only became available yesterday, and there are over 500 of them!
