Re: Almost 3 weeks post op update

@Goodie2shoes

I am happy to hear you are on the way to mending, and that it won’t be FOREVER before you can re-do.  I had to wait 8 months.

Having someone to help at home is the best.  My DH managed my Picc line at home for 8 weeks, and home health changed the dressing.  When the line came out the Flebotomist said it was cleaner than ones she’d seen managed in the hospital!  He was so Proud.

Sorry about the down day, but You will surely bounce back after a bit of a re-set.

Wishes for great progress!

@Goodie2shoes  You have really had an ordeal, but I am so glad that your BF is there every step of the way.  I hope you continue to do well and August 7 cannot come soon enough.

Glad to have an update on your condition.  Sounds like everything is falling into place.  I guess the key is patience.  Good luck.

Re: Almost 3 weeks post op update

@Goodie2shoes, boy it sure sounds like you have really been through it and then some!  Glad to hear though that you are doing a little better and have your BF to help with the PICC line and IV antibiotics.

On the surface I know it can sound so simple, but in reality it really is quite a bit to have a PICC line and have your day revolve around time for the IV meds, keeping up with all the supplies, storing the medications, etc.  And that doesn't take into account how you feel.

Glad to hear you are also taking some Ensure.  As you know, protein intake right now is important for you.

Here's hoping to an uphill swing for you and that it gets better day after day!

@Goodie2shoes, I'm so glad you're recovering well!  It's bad enough to go through once let alone twice.

I try to catch threads that talk about knee replacements because it might be in my future but somehow I missed your first thread.  I'll try and find it later.

Godspeed!
