I get a pelvic exam every year but a pap every 2 years, I'm 64 now.--never had any bad results . I also get an ultra sound exam when needed. I am on tamoxafin so need to still watch for uterine changes.

I'm still having them (I'm 63), but I had endometrial cancer 5 years ago so I'll probably keep on for at least a few more years. I had a hysterectomy with ovaries removed, no further treatment, and it was caught very early. I'll think more about it once my oncologist releases me...hopefully after my next CT scan, which will be in January.
I've been wondering about mammograms, too. My mom had breast cancer, though, so I guess I'll continue those for awhile longer, too...at least as long as they are covered by insurance and/or Medicare.

Since I have never had a negative Pap test, my doctor says I no longer need to have one. I'm over 65. Of course, if some related symptoms developed that would be a different story.

I haven't had one in several years and I'm 55. No more period; I can't justify going anymore. Besides, I HATE it. If I start bleeding or something falls out, that's when I'll go again.
Also, I only had two mammograms. One at age 40 and one at age 41. I stopped because they were painful and they left me very bruised. Then I read that it is very, very bad for breast tissue to be bruised. So no more mammograms. I do self checks. To be honest with you, I truly believe it's the mammogram itself that gives women breast cancer. You can disagree all you want, but I'll never get another ever again.

My last physical at age 60. I was not thrilled with having to have a pap test done but it had been about 4 years so my doctor suggested I have one...... I have never had a positive test for anything bad my entire life. This last test was the same.
