On Sunday I posted that I'd had the 2nd Moderna on Sat. afternoon and had a sore arm and a couple hours of chills and a red warm swelling at the injection site. Well by yesterday morning that swelling had turned into a really red hot swollen welt about 4 inches long and 3 inches across. And boy was it sore!

I sent a photo of it to a few friends and my kids. They were all like "whoa" and"omg" and thought I should call a doctor. I didn't. This morning it was about 75% better. Now it's a about an inch around and faded down from reddish and angry looking to a pale pink. I expect by tomorrow it'll be back to normal.

From googling I learned my arm reaction is being reported more now that more folks have received #2. This is only with the Moderna, not the Pfizer.

If I had a clue how to post a photo here......but alas, none.

I first posted this in another covid thread by error and just ccp'd it to here so if you see a duplicate......sorry.

I received both (Pfizer) vaccines.  After first vaccine, sore arm for couple days, and about 5 hours after vaccine, slight chills and body aches, felt fine next day.  After second shot, sore arm for couple days.  I did have lower back ache a few days later.  After that, all good!  🙏🏻🙆🏻‍♀️

I had that reaction a week after my first shot.  It's called COVID arm, very common after Moderna, and it goes away just like that. Mine itched.

I had my first Pfizer vaccine a few weeks ago and go for my second this Friday. I didn't have any reaction except a horrible backache. I've never heard that a backache was a reaction but I had a terrible one. Just for one day and that was it. I'm wondering if I'll get the backache again.

@ID2   Interesting about the backache you had....that is the main symptom Ellen Degeneres had when she cam down with COVID 19. A terrible backache.

I got my 2nd dose of Moderna on 2/11.  I had fatigue, headache along with a low fever (100.2) and it lasted until bedtime when I took tylenol. Felt much better the next morning, but this reaction was stronger than my first dose. My first was a slightly sore arm and some fatigue. i would definitely plan on spending the rest of the day after your second dose resting or being able to stay close to home.

DH had the COVID arm rash thing after his second shot.  Looked just like the pictures online.  Went away after a couple of days.

Those are short-term side effects. I'm very worried about long-term side effects, which no one can predict at this point. Those with auto-immune disorders and medication sensitivities might not do so well down the road. I'll pass on the vaccine.

What makes you think there will be "long-term side effects"? No prooof. Too bad you aren't geting the vaccine. I feel those that don't will contribute to this cycle of the virus staying with us a heck of a lot longer. Thanks.
