cracking NBT jar

[ Edited ]

Has anyone else had issues with the plastic jar the NBT comes in cracking? Mine has  developed a lot of cracks, two of which are at least half the height of the jar. Some of them are just a series of small cracks. For the price of this stuff, it makes me really reluctant to buy anymore. I didn't return it because I got it in a kit and would have to return the fragrance also. I have not dropped it or damaged it in any way.  It didn't arrive cracked, but I noticed them start to show up when I would pick up the jar to use it and then they just multiplied. I thought about transferring the lotion into another jar but instead decided to just use it up quickly so I've been slathering it on.

ALL of my jars do this. The last 3 I purchased from ChazDean.com (rather than the Q) did the same thing. I don't feel the cracks compromise the 6/13 NBT. I believe the cracks are on the outer jar, not inner nor all the way thru. My jars arrived without cracks, then with daily use, the cracks start to show. I don't know why the jars crack, but I'm glad it's not just me (thought I was super strong and didn't know it).

Other than the jar just being defective, the only thing I can think of is are you maybe screwing down the lid too tightly? Maybe you don't know your own strength, lol!

Oh wow, so it's not just me. I noticed it over a month ago and was reluctant to post about.

No I don't think I'm tightening it too much, I've never had it happen on any other plastic lotion jars like the Josie Maran argan butter ones. I'm not a body builder or anything lol.

The first time this happened, I thought that might be the case. Then it happened with the next 3 jars and I was careful with the jar. I believe it's the plastic jar.

No good. The air is constantly getting inside, and from all the sides in addition. My jar does not do this. If it would, I would immediately transfer the contents into another, well washed/dried, and preferably GLASS jar.

This NBT stuff is very expensive to be exposed to the air likes, through the cracks and start spoiling before it's time.

One of mine did crack--after I dropped the jar on the bathroom tile floor.  But even then, it only had one crack and not nearly as noticeable as the large one in your photos, more like the smaller ones.

From looking at the jar, it's got double wall construction. None of the cracks are visible inside the jar so the lotion isn't being exposed to more air than is already in the jar in the first place. Having said that, I don't have this problem with cheap drugstore products and I don't expect such poor packaging when the stuff is 80 bucks a jar IE 10 dollars an oz at retail.

Just wanted to raise my hand and say that this has happened to the two jars I have purchased from QVC also.  I really wish that Chaz would consider packaging this in some other type of container.  I don't think it hurts the integrity of the product, but as everyone else has pointed out for the price, it would be nice to have a container that didn't crack.
