@Thia-Winter, thank you for that clarification... lol, cause I has no clue. That explains why FIG wieghed my hair down and made it greasy after about a day. lol, I think I must have blotted the grease aspect out of my mind, becasue it was frustrating.
I have very porous, baby fine hair and the FIG CC literally would start to leak out of my hair after a day, and the Sweet Almond Mint wasn't much better.
I guess I'm lucky that the Mandarin Italian Fig (MIF) and the Summer Honey Peach (SHP) work well for my hair, because those two are more moisturising than some of the other CCs.

@bebe777 those two are very light in comparison. So that makes total sense.

@gemslily wrote:Thanks for this post. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who cannot use SHP even thought I've tried multiple times.
I have fine, straight hair and seasonals (soy based?) work best for me. I do great with the Spring seasonals and figured would not have a problem with the Summer seasonals.
Well just yesterday I finally gave up on SHP. With trying different mixes of cleanses with SHP, I kept waking up the next morning with a matted, greasier-than-normal roots. But I'm still ok with WEN Men and SHL so they are my staple formulas.
Now on to retrying SMC. Last year it didn't seem the best for me. Maybe didfferent results this year ....
@gemslily We may be some of the few that can't use SHP but at least you're not alone. I'm not really a fan of the SHP scent either so I guess it doesn't matter that it doesn't work for my hair.

@Thia-Winter, thank you again for sharing your expertise!! I really appreciate it!!
Thanks so much for explaining why the MIF and SHP formulas (which I love) are working so well for my hair.
And since you're a hair care expert...
I have very porous, baby fine hair. When I started using FIG, it also seemed to me leaking out of my hair shaft because the whole length of my hair would get greasy after a day (this also happened with the Sweet Almond Mint (SAM)). -- With all of the other (lol) 22 formulas that I use, I can go for 3-4 days between cleanses (and occasionally even longer).
At first I couldn't figure out why the FIG and SAM CCs were making my hair greasy after one day. -- It was only after reading the Wen forum posts for a long time, that I thought that they might be leaking out of my very porous hair. The whole thing was so puzzling and frustrating for me.
Can that happen? Thanks again for all your help!!!

@bebe777, more than likely what was actually going on was it wss too heavy for your hair and your scalp oil was mixing with it, making it look greasy early. If you use the right things on your scalp your oil production balances out and everything is good, your washes stretch and your hair looks smooth and silky.

@Thia-Winter, as always, thanks so much for explaining this to me. I really appreciate it... especially since it's been so darned puzzling.
Pre-Wen my scalp and hair would turn into an oil slick every time I used shampoo. I always had to shampoo my hair in the morning just to make it through the day.
Using the Wen Tea Tree CC for a few months really helped to normalize my scalps oil production (because I sweat a lot, and so my scalp will always be on the oilier side). -- Eventually I found that overnight TT oil scalp treatments did an even better job of normalizing my oil production, so I was able to switch over to my Restoratives, Seasonals, Wen Men and 613.
So it sounds as though I'm probably safe... lol, just as long as I keep FIG and Sweet Almond Mint (SAM) out of my rotation... clearly they're the wrong things for my scalp.
Thia, thanks again for your expertise and input!!!

Something in the Summer Honey Peach triggers an asthma attack for me. I can't even open the oil without having to use my inhaler to stop the wheezing. I can't identify any ingredients that I'm allergic to in the listing, so I'm pretty sure it's something hidden in the "fragrance" ingredient.
One more reason I always tell people to buy and test a normal size bottle before buying a gallon.
06-10-2016 10:32 AM
I agree with getting the regular-sized bottle both if you have fragrance sensitivity and to make sure it'll work for your hair type. I have both frangrance allergies that can lead to asthma attacks and also have very picky hair. I picked up honey lilac oil, mousse, and styling cream and while I like them, I add oil to my hair when putting in everything and sometimes if I put too much, I'm sensitive to it. I seem to be okay as long as my allergies aren't already acting up. There are a few that I can't use, and I'm not sure what to do with them as I opened them to smell them and won't be able to use them (Winter Cranberry set off an asthma attack just from smelling it, and Fall Apple was a no-go as well and they're both 32 oz!).
About 5-6 years ago I became so excited about the gallons and had already ordered Fig, the main one I use out of the original line. I have coarse, wavy/curly colored hair that needs a lot of moisture. My main CCs are Fig, TT, and 613/619. I've tried most the seasonals, and Honey Peach is the only one I can use without having to add a lot of other CC to. TT was already sold out or else I'd have gone with it, so I ordered Lavender as it sounded like it'd work for me, but nope! I love the scent too! Once the second cleanse was started, I used it mixed with TT for the first clease, which I've been doing with my seasonals that I'm unable to use alone to get through them. BTW, after seeing that gross gallon bottle with mold, I checked mine and both don't have any problems, and both are still in my shower though the Fig is empty aside of the bottom of it, and it's been a good 5 years.
Since Honey Peach is the only seasonal that I can use mostly by itself for my hair type and I do like the scent, last year I picked up a set of the mousse and styling cream. I love the scent in my hair though it's definitely not overpowering. I saved so I could get styling products this year (I have a few 32 oz bottles of the CC in Honey Peach from last year) and have had horrible luck so far! I'm on waitlist for the first ODO of the oil, styling cream, and I think the 16 oz cleanser. I DID order the singular oil after others had their waitlist go through and mine hasn't despite ordering the same day it was presented. The 32 oz with mousse (I really want the mousse!) and brush isn't worth it when I only want the mousse, so I'm hoping for another configuration with the mousse. When that was a bust, I checked out the replenishing mist duo and that was already on waitlist. After still being on waitlist and only having an oil go through, I decided to go for the texturizing spray and wanted it in Bamboo (never tried either as it sounds like they wouldn't work for my hair type as far as the CCs), but it was out so I'll get to try the other Fig. Perhaps it'll smell good with regular Fig??? Some of the scent mixes are pretty stinky! It sounds perfect for my hair type, as keeping frizz away is a constant battle and right now, unless I air dry my hair, it tends to frizz. I'm still hopeful for more Honey Peach products- I guess if my bad luck keeps up, I can always keep my 619 TSV going and add the HP oil to those products! Something about the scent cheers me up. The CC doesn't moisturize too much but still gives my hair the moisture it needs without weighing it down if that makes sense. Sorry for the ramble, I wanted to help others as well as share my experiences. I add about a dropperful of oil throughout the ends of my hair after showering to help smooth it out so that tends to condition it as well (my hair is long).

@yisbuff2, I'm really glad to hear that you are going to keep the Summer Honey Peach (SHP) set because I know how much you like the scent.
When you try the original Chloe perfume -- subtle peach base, with some fun and funky offbeat notes -- let me know how you like it.
