I have been using packing envelopes and cubes for about 20 years. My DH and I own many of them in all sizes. They are a must for long trips. We have traveled for a month or longer overseas with one suitcase.
I use the envelopes for tops and the cubes for pants and socks, and intimates. It is like the game of tetra. When you pack with square and rectangles in a rectangle suitcase, you can get so much more in there wrinkle free. If you want to unpack at your destination, you just put the cubes and envelopes in the dresser. There is no need to take the clothing out until you need to wear it.
i also use them in our camper. I have to pack clothing on shelves and when we are driving, everything slides and gets wrinkled without them.
i have some from Eagle Creek, but most of mine are from e-bags, I buy whatever color is on sale, so I have many colors. I have some from e-bay too.

Love them to travel with. I even started using them in my dresser to put tops in categories of sleeve and or color.
I want to be organized so I can find things. I also want to be neat and have my SPACES look good.
I am also one who travels with a wheeled spinner garment bag. Everything is on a hanger and ready to hang when I get to the hotel or cruise ship or my daughters house.
The more I organize the less I overlook.
I also have a hanging organizer for makeup and shampoo and miscellaneous supplies. It goes over a hook or the bathroom door.

Everyone is going to chuckle over this - at least I did. Got a notice from AARP that it was time to renew my membership and if I did through their email, I would get 4 packing cubes! A large, medium, small, and slim! LOL After all the talk we've had and the fact that I just bought some from the store that sounds like a South American river, I laughed so hard. Of course, I wanted their packing cubes! Once their package arrives, I'll have more cubes that one could possibly ever need.

@pegomyheart oh yes please do report on your trip! How long, where in Africa, with a tour company or on your own. Oh I am so envious, jealous and all that. I miss Africa soooo much!

Love packing cubes. Learned about them in a women's travel group on facebook. Bought some from IKEA and Ebags. Have a set with a large, medium, small, 3 slim, and 2 shoe bags for myself and husband along with a lay it flat toiletry kit to match. Keeps everything organized.
Last year on our Alaskan cruise we only took our TLS motherlode jr. backpacks filled with the cubes and a personal item. Leaving Seattle on the way home husband's pack got pulled aside after xray. The TSA agent was impressed and said it was the most organized bag she had seen in her career. Turns out my travel mirror was the culprit since it had a charger coiled on top of the 2 folded discs in it's semi-hard shell case that I slipped into hiis bag.

I have a niice hanging type cosmetic tote I inherited from my Mother in RED!
Her name was CHERRY.
My current tote is a black hole from H E L L! I hate digging thru that thing.
I am in the process of transferring over to the the hang on a hook Miss Cherry Tote.<G>
Thanks for your Packing Cubes information.
Keep Calm and Travel On,
CAT

I just received my first set of ebag packing cubes. I got the starter set - a large, medium, small and slim cube. Can't wait to try them out on my next trip. So glad I saw your post on packing cubes!

@itsmagic let us know how you like them and, if you don't mind, what you packed in each one. Know that sounds silly but it may help others understand how to use them and what fits in them, etc. Don't have to go into detail, just pants in the large, shirts in the medium, or whatever.
