I'm going to purchase one. There's no doubt. With solar panels. I'm waging between a PATRIOT or LION ENERGY.

Any experiences with either?

We have a Bluetti power station with solar panels. It will run the refrigerator if needed. We have used it one time recently when the power went out. It ran our tower fans and charged phones and would run the wifi if we needed. It charges really fast.

Re: POWER GENERATORS

[ Edited ]

I bought a regular gasoline generator. The sun doesn't always shine in the middle of a storm or at night. My power went out for four days in early spring when temps were freezing. I had to use a gas generator to power up my space heaters for all of those days.

None of the solar powered ones that I know of will power a heater for more than maybe 30 minutes.  The smallest garage type heater I've seen runs at 1500 to 1800 watts.  A refrigerator is nowhere near that.  I think some hair dryers may be, so if you see a hairdryer at that wattage listed, see how long they say it'll run.

People are always asking about solar powered heaters for their greenhouses.  Of course, at best, you're gonna need that heater at night.

Not familiar with those brands and mine is an 'off' name too.

Do you want a small size gasoline type or natural gas?

Natural can be hooked to your already installed gas heating source and come on automatically when lights go out.

You didn't give much info .....so this is my  best input

@fthunt

My furnace runs on natural gas but it needs electricity to run the blower. Right now I can't afford a Generac type generator where that would run off my natural gas line. Too bad. they're too expensive for me. Love to have one.

@SilleeMee   Four days is a long time. Did it power the refrigerator too or was all the food lost. That worries me a lot.

 We have a whole house Gererac. It runs on propane . With our last power outage (5 days ) it was wonderful. And we could flush the toilet.

It was freezing outside. I just put some food in a cooler and set it out on my deck. Nothing was lost but I didn't have much to lose anyway.

@katie1859 ..   I've never heard of Patriot or Lion Energy.  That being said DH and I had a Generac Standby Generator installed a few years ago.   Our house is small so we got one that runs everything as long as we don't go crazy running all the appliances at once and having all the lights on.  Best investment we ever made.
