Okay, I know a "spork" is a spoon and fork combined used in some fast food restaurants; but what would the use be at a tablesetting?  I noticed a spork is included in the Lenox set and I am not sure what anyone would use it for.

Re: SPORK ANYONE?

A very good question!

My guess:  if you bring home fast food from McD or BK or Taco Bell, you sit at your table and use your shiny Lenox spork to eat with. If it’s home cooked food, no spork used.

Just a guess. I’m sure Miss Manners can explain how a stainless steel spork is used in a place setting.

A spork is great for Top Ramen.

I haven’t seen it in everyday flatware but I like the idea especially for kids. I know I would use it.

Mary Beth mention using it for pies and crumbles. I’d use it for my stews. It’s also great for young children.

My flatware set has sporks and we use them a lot. My teen age son eats Chipotle burrito bowls, Mac and cheese, yogurt and fruit, oatmeal, beef stew, and cottage cheese with them.

I thought they were silly when I got them, but we use them a lot. Would I include them in a formal place setting? Probably not, but most of our flatware needs are not for dinner parties. Some one eats a meal standing over the kitchen sink once a day at my house.

I purchased a set of Reed & Barton flatwear that had sporks included for our kids. They loved it! I don't see the need for us but I guess it depends on what you cook and if you have kids, etc. To each his own.

I'm thinking dessert.  When I eat pie or cake, I always use a spoon while most other people use a fork.  I could get by with a spork!

I would love these. My 9 year old son eats every meal with a spoon, he does not like forks at all. If I give him a fork, he'll ask for a spoon.
