You have an older model.  The newer Fires are much lighter.

Re: Amazon fire TSV?

I placed my order for the yellow/black just in time!...I bought a 2-pk 7" Fire from HSN almost 4-5 yrs ago (gifted one to my godson)...they are still working with no problelms, but I just had to upgrade and order these today...I'm glad I waited because HSN had a 2-pk 7" a few mths ago for $99 (I'm gonna gift the new one to my mom)...I love the Fire and it does exactly what I need it to do....if you're hesitant, do exactly as they have stated on every presentation - get it home, use it and if you do not like it you have until January to return it...if you're hesitant because of a "90-day warranty", then purchase an extended warranty...if you feel like it's too hard to read, then change the font to large font....I can't wait to get it and I know my 66 yr old mom will feel the same!

I decided to purchase 8. Red set and Blue set. I hope my Grandchildren will be thrilled to have their own. 10 years old and under. I figure they will not have to fight over a Tablet.

I have several Fire 7's and love them all, but not equally.

The ones with the color cases, red and yellow have died.  The black and blue ones keep going.

You can change the size of the print very easily.

The holding issue can be addressed with an attachment.  I like popstickers.  There are also some straps that hook to the edges that work well.

If you get prime all sorts of wonders open...movies, music, books, fast & free shipping.  I really hesitated but, once I shelled out the $99,  it was difficult to remember why I waited.   Try the one-month free option to see if it's for you.

You can use whispersinc to be able to go from one tablet to another,

while keeping your place.

I'm 78,  not a techie.  You do need a good wifi connection.

Thank you for your review (I currently own a 7" from 2014 and just ordered a 8" that I love and can't wait to get the new 7")....like I said in my reply I'm giving one to my 66 yr old mother and will show her all the ins and outs.

@apple1964 @Bigsister I have arthritis in my hands and had trouble holding a tablet until I discovered this device for sale on Amazon by Lapworks.  They come in sizes to fit all tablets and make holding them effortless. I can use my pad for hours with no discomfort.

The all new fire tablets are much lighter in weight .. the ones you brought from QVC  are a older model.

I ordered a all new fire for my daughters b-day.. it came in yesterday in marine blue and it has a larger screen but, we both noticed it is lighter to hold then her old one. I would recommend to anyone .. my daughter likes it better then her IPad mini3 which is a old Ipad. More durable then the Ipad also, She loves hers. Oh they have three sizes if you buy from Amazon which I did. A seven inch, a eight inch and a 10 inch.Very affordable and for 79 dollars the fire 8 inch which got rave reviews and five stars is a winner.Woman LOLWoman LOLHeart

Have you ladies ordered and rec'd your caseable?....I ordered one with my new Fire 8 tablet from HSN and the smell is unbearable (the odor is strong enough to get you a little from it)....anyway, I went ahead and placed the order for my two Fire 7 tablets from QVC, hopefully there is no bad smell - otherwise, I'll just have to purchase from a store.
