If you are 20 years old and your mother has to wake you up and tell you to get out of bed at 11:00 in the morning, you are never going to make it on your own. I can't even see her going to Harvard and getting a degree! She has been so pampered her whole life, she is not equipped to deal with real life.

Dogs are God's most perfect creatures. Angels here on earth to teach us to be better humans.

@Duckncover   And who got her started on the female hormones so young?  Certainly she didn't get them herself.  I've never watched the show and never will because I don't agree, but I've seen many promos for it.  Why would anyone want to go thru all that pain and suffering just to be something you're not???

@Patriot3   That has been my question all along.  Didn't this start at a really, really young.  As a little boy, he wanted to wear a girl's bathing suit.   This is the parents job to not feed this, but to guide them. Why didn't they give him male hormones and counseling.

I watched a few episodes at the begining of the series.  The parent's are whacked.  The father is a casper milk toast.  He really should have stood up to his wife.  This is a story of child abuse IMO.

I agree a lot. You have a problem with the young child, but no way can you allow a child to choose his/her gender. That's ridiculous. You go to doctors, not start on hormones!

@tends2dogs  At the age of 3, Jazz told her parents that she was a girl.  Hormones weren't begun until years later.  Jazz continued living as a girl until finally it was decided, by doctors and her, that she begin hormones.  This is nothing new, we know there are many people like this, causing some to commit suicide due to no support by family and being taunted.

And now, she may commit suicide. And nobody is going to believe her mental problems now are unrelated to her gender confusion.

They long ago gave up parenting. They're now afraid to have any say but to agree with any whim or anything she does. Heaven forbid they treat her as an adult child should be treated. They gave up parenting long ago.

This sort of stuff should never be turned into a TV show for entertainment. Just gross. Hard enough to deal with without an audience.

I read that at one time Jazz's mom was some type of filmmaker. I wonder if that had anything to do with this being turned into a series.

I've just started viewing this show. It so reminds me so of when my son was about three. He began acting like a horse. He told me he was a horse. He galloped around and did all kind of horsey things. He was very serious, and I would just tell him he was a little boy. It went on for months. I didn't think it was doctor worthy. But how mental would he have been if I supported him and encouraged him to be a horse.

If his behavior would continue, I would know he had a mental problem, sadly. It went away as many things do. Could he have comitted suicide because I said he wasn't a horse?

All parents know, you cannot let a three year old determine what gender he/she is. And support that!!! The parents have a big problem I think.

That is a very good comparison.  I have tried to look at this situation giving the parents the benefit of the doubt but do not understand why they would give into a child insisting they were a different gender.  He may have been just fascinated with girls clothing.  My son at 3 wanted me to paint his fingernails. I didn't explaining that little Boys don't wear nail polish.  I do believe Jazz's mental issues are related to all the medications she takes and starting hormones so early.  It is really sad!  Something else that concerns me is her brother entertaining getting romantically involved with a transgender male?  What the heck is wrong with this family?

@isaboo - I just had to tell this story. I think my son was about 6 years old. I had made an appointment to have pictures taken of him. I got him dressed. And I ran in to take a quick shower. I swear I took less than 5 minutes. When I came out, He had taken permanent markers and "painted his nails" with the permanent markers.

He used blue and green on his nails. Not the look I was going for in the pictures.
