I was never a big James Bond fan as I don't particularly enjoy action movies. However, Daniel Craig was my favorite James Bond by far, and I really did like Skyfall.

Roger Moore was my favorite 007.
After Sean, I think Pierce Brosnan was the best .... elegant, yet effective. A vision to behold in a tuxedo!
Daniel Craig seemed like a thug. I couldn't stand to watch him.
I like Pierce Bronson but he was typecast for me as Remington Steele in his TV series that I enjoyed! lol
But thumbs down for Craig....

You need the right Bond. He needs to be experienced, dedicated to Great Britain (country first), handsome, suave, debonair, with a certain intensity that comes through when called for.
Just Googling young male British actors brings up a guy who could fit the bill in Alex Pettyfer. I don't know how good of an actor he is, but he has the right look. (Not that anyone in a Bond film is ever up for an Oscar for their acting.) If you do a Google image search for Alex Pettyfer you can find a few hundred photos of him and judge for yourself.
He lacks "something" although I havent seen him act, perhaps he needs some "seasoning" and a few grey hairs....Im surprised you didnt go for a female Bond and picked Goff's girlfriend, Christen Harper, for the role (inside NFL joke folks 😄😉)

I've read all the books. Ian Fleming himself described
James as looking like Hoagy Carmichael.
Here's Hoagy Carmichael.

Sean Connery IS James Bond.
And for all the other Bond girls on the thread...

You beat me to this. I was just going to suggest this 'artwork' would go perfectly here, too! 😂 👍

The full article also said Rege Jean Page (sp?) is a likely favorite candidate. He was in the first season of Bridgerton and another Shondra Rhimes series. I think he could fit the bill.
Of course, screenwriters take artistic liberty all the time .... so it's not outside the realm of possibility that Daniel Craig's Bond was just faking his death.
At some point, wasn't M's death faked?
If they could convince Craig to come back, and threw a LOT of money at him to do so, it could be done. But from a health and safety standpoint, these actors get pretty banged up in filming ... and serious injuries happen, even if they have stunt doubles doing a majority of the action sequences.

Daniel Craig said the filming schedules were grueling-didn't want to go thru that again. Life's short. I don't blame him.

I thought Daniel Craig was ok as James Bond. Initially, I didn’t think I’d like him in the role.
I’ve always enjoyed these films, so I hope we see more to come.
