James Bond Producer Gives Disappointing Update On Craig's Replacement
James Bond franchise producer, Barbara Broccoli, give a disappointing update regarding Daniel Craig's replacement as the titular character. Originally created in 1953 by British author Ian Fleming, James Bond thrilled audiences all over the world in his first feature film, Dr. No, in 1962. Starring Sean Connery as MI6's agent 007, the character would eventually be portrayed by six actors in 25 films over the course of 60 years.
The latest entry in the multi-generation action-adventure franchise, No Time to Die, proved to the last for Craig who starred in the role for a total of five films in 15 years. The thrilling finale concluded with Bond sacrificing himself and leaving a daughter behind. Broccoli and co-producer, Michael G. Wilson, have stated that the future Bond will need to be a reinvention of the character and must commit to the role for an extended period of time.

Okay, this fresh update seems like they are either dragging their feet because they have to re-think the Bond character and franchise .... or have put out feelers and are disappointed with the responses some actors have given. One key point may be that this new actor will have to commit to several years availability to even get the job ... most actors have a shelf life as to when they are earning the top dollars for their ability, and commiting for several years but not getting paid until the movie filming actually starts can leave them in limbo.
The Bond movies have become much more expensive and take more time to make, so they can't crank out a new one every 18 months or so anymore.
What do you think about the future of the James Bond franchise?
