I think we should all demand that QVC provide accurate dates, or a date range, for arrival of orders. They appear right now just to make a date up; I've yet to get something "on time." And they must KNOW if they have unavoidable delays; quit mispresenting when you can deliver your items. Anyone have ideas about how we can help effect change on this topic?

@oldasmud I don't have a solution for you, but I have noticed that when they ship UPS/delivered by USPS, then the "delivery" date seems to be when UPS delivers it to the local post office, which means add another 3-7 days for the post office to deliver it.
I'm sure QVC has a very big contract with both companies and pay very little for our shipments - probably as low as 10-20% as much as you and I would pay to ship something back to them, so we are last on the priority list and therefore the shipments get delivered with zero priority or importance.
I noticed the huge discrepency when shipping items for my company - the prices were very low compared to what I would pay as an individual.

Demand????
Good luck with that........
People can always shop elsewhere.

@oldasmud I think you can demand all you want, but last week I paid UPS $70+ to send 2 boxes from NY to Florida. They did give me an estimated date of arrival, but I had to sign that there was no guarantee the boxes would arrive on then. Before this summer I had only been asked to sign that the addresses on the shipping label were correct. Same signature for a box going to PA.

You may want an accurate date but it is doubtful you will get it.
This is an unrealistic demand.

@oldasmud So your post is a "demand"! How interesting!
AND QVC can't control delivery. Even you should understand that.

I think it's an unrealistic demand. The world has changed! Delivery companies have seen an increase in volume business. Any company can only give you an estimated delivery date based on the information they're given.
There are times when items are delivered early. They have stated there may be delays in deliveries...like so many other companies are experiencing. Unless you expect QVC to expand to its own fleet of aircrafts and delivery vans I don't know where you think there is a solution. Do you honestly feel any legitimate company does not want you to receive your items in a timely manner?

@CAcableGirl2 That delay between UPS and USPS rarely happens where I live in NY or in Florida. I did have one delay here in NY in June, but it's not policy - it's a mailman who is retiring this year. When he takes days off, his replacements don't get accurate info he's supposed to leave them.

I know that QVC isn't the fastest to get their orders actually out the door. But once they're shipped, then it's the shippers' responsibility.
Obviously things now are skewed. I've had several orders from other places that are taking longer than they used to. And a couple that never arrived at all. Many more things are being shipped around the world, with fewer workers and facilities to fulfill those orders. Not to mention spur-of-the-moment temporary closures to accommodate illness and necessary sanitizing.
And it also depends on where you live. Even pre-Covid, people were complaining about their QVC orders being late. But mine rarely were. And in the last couple of months, not only have 99.9% of my Q orders arrived on time, I have gotten the majority earlier than their estimated delivery date.

@oldasmud There is really no way that a company that ships their products can provide absolute accurate dates of delivery. In certain times, it is not always easy; in uncertain times like we have now, it is not always possible. That is why retailers as well as shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS) have sent emails out stating that they are doing their best but cannot guaranttee delivery dates.
If you demand accurate, buy local and support your local economy.
