I must be the odd one.  I can't think of any reason that I'd ever want to contact a host.

I can't think of any reason that a host would, or would want, to personally contact or respond to a QVC customer. The host doesn't want a relationship with a viewer, and when I see some of the specific, product-related questions people ask hosts on the forums - don't people have a clue that the host would have no idea as to the answer, and are not CS, whether on the forums or on FB?

I just can't be the only person on the planet who doesn't want to use Facebook, but for some time now the ONLY way to contact a specific hostt is to go to their Facebook page.  There is no way to send an email directly to the host anymore.  Know this isn't a new policy, just that I am fed up with Facebook controlling everything we do.  Sending an email suggestion to QVC does not work.  If they were getting too many direct emails-----well isn't that just too bad.  Part of the job and just means that lots of people  are watching them.

***********************************************Hon, when we could email them by clicking on Host Pictures they weren"t advertising products..  F B is a billboard of advertisements as well as info that many can see at one time.

A lot of what is posted on these forums is much like what is found on FB.  I don't see a different other than on the forums people can hide behind an alias.  Although, you can use an alias on FB too.

Interesting info regarding QVC and hosts requirements regarding Facebook---info is from one of LR's stalker cases....

"QVC required its on air personalities to maintain Facebook pages as a means of fostering audience identificiation with them, and extending opportunites for product promotion. These Facebook pages included references to personal activities such as vacations, daily activities like exercising routines and grocery shopping, as well as product references and recommendations.  Ms. Robertson testified that she received performance reviews evaluating her rate of engagement with Facebook followers and their "activitiy level". I agree. I am a private person and don't see the need to spread my personal information all over the internet. I tried Facebook for a week and found that I didn't like it. My daughter is on it all of the time and I think she shares entirely too much with others. To each her own..............

Absolutely agree, Brigitta.  I also tried Facebook for about a week, at the instistence of a relative who thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.  Yawn. So not interested in reading what a Facebook "friend" had for dinner! I personally prefer to spend time outside, away from a computer, talking to my real three-dimensional friends! I work in technology and don't know one single colleague who uses Facebook, either. Interestingly, the younger generation is jumping off of Facebook in big numbers. My 20-something nieces and nephews no longer touch Facebook. (They've moved onto newer—and way more fun—technologies that their parents know little or nothing about!)

I have a FB account and rarely use it.  I'll just check out some friends and my kids to see what new photos they may have but it seems like the same people are constantly posting phtos all the time.

My husband once wanted to sign up for something (I don't recall what it was) and they wanted him to sign in with FB.  He didn't have an account so instead of opening his own account decided to open one up for our dog.  He posted her photo and within a few days she had dozens of "friends"!  It was very funny!

And this is different from what is posted to the QVC forums all day, every day, how?
