I did not read it as an insult. It just points out that one should not throw stones from a glass house. The complaint might hold a little water if the complainer can talk for an hour about a mattress without one but, um, uh, or too long of a silence.

The complaint had nothing to do with as you said ONE but, um, uh, or too long of a silence during an hours presentation. It those every 10 second ums that never cease over the period of a couple of hours. Or maybe it's just that they are so frequent it only seems like every 10 seconds. In this line of work that's a bad habit that needs to be worked on because it's annoying after awhile. And because I'm old & cranky, make that a VERY SHORT WHILE. But it's an easy fix.......click.

You missed my point.

Better then Isaac saying "like, like, like" about 50 times during a presentation. 'Valley Girl ' LOL

@Caaareful Shopper As I stated, I have been laid up with a sprained ankle. I was not able to get on my computer until I posted. I started the NEGATIVE thread because it is annoying. Are YOU perfect?

@TenderMercies Excuse me, but I believe there were no spelling errors in my post. Maybe poor grammar, EXCUSE me, but when I post in a hurry, I don't always do my best. SORRY I ever even posted. I'm better off staying off this forum.

@TX-starlight I agree. It aggravates me so much that I mute the "persistent umm offenders" and will not purchase anything when they are on the air. One particular vender is the absolute worst. I find it unbelievable she was a newscaster in a previous career with that awful habit.
My daughter attended a magnate highschool. When they were required to give a speech or an extemporaneous talk, if they "ummed" at all, they failed.
The same thing applied to me back in the 70"s and 80's. I wish we could go back to those "rules" of education.

@TX-starlight Compared to many of the posters on this site, your post gets an "A+" for the least grammatical or spelling errors! It was a pleasure to read your post without cringing.

You've made my exact point @TX-starlight. No one is perfect. Certainly not me, and I dare say, not you either. But YOU started this negative thread as if you are perfect. I did not.
