The hosts are nothing more than a sales clerk! I have no desire to get to know them, nor to hear about their personal stories that take away from information about the product. There are times I want to see a shoe color on my TV verses my computer, but Jane T. will go off on a story we've heard 100 times before. The camera stays on Jane, and not the product they are selling. If I bother to turn QVC on, I'm wanting product information, not what the hosts do! Be real!

I don't really get QVC's push to send customers to Facebook (maybe because I don't use FB), but it would seem to me they would be better served to develop their own website and keep customers here. I don't think the webbies really understand how to promote and organize the QVC blogs. If they did, there would be no need to send us to Facebook. They could keep all that content right here.

I have seen the same sort of thing with other hosts. Yesterday I accessed the TSV video online. I just wanted to see the item worn on a human rather than see it on a stand. After watching the product video for about 5 minutes, they still hadn't shown it on a model. I think the producers and others working behind the scenes are just as much to blame as the hosts.

I think the Facebook thing is just another sales gimmick---QVC invites you to the host's Facebook Page where some of the hosts post some personal stories and photos.....From what I've heard a FEW of the hosts say they will answer questions or at least some of the hosts do. But by communicating with hosts on Facebook QVC thinks this will make you think that the hosts are your "friends" , you are part of the QVC "family" (so said QVC's CEO in an article I read) translation ---so you will be more apt to listen to their sales spiel.....And there are even some very loyal QVC viewers that will even purchase products because it's presented by their favorite hosts.......
Also, more and more of the host's Facebook Pages seem to be more about promoting QVC products that they are presented or will be presented on QVC......some offer "sneak peeks" or "special promotions"---giving customers a chance to purchase products ahead of the crowd...... Some Facebook Pages are just a big advertisement for QVC....I don't know if that's because some are concerned about privacy issues
I've lurked on a few of their pages ( I do enjoy Carolyn's animal stories) ....
But I'm not much into FB, I use my page to communicate with just a few relatives that live out of state..... My immediate family members and close friends I see in person, talk on the phone with, or communicate with via email which is more private ....

Someone had posted a note from Lisa Mason's FB Page a while back ....she left QVC because she had an episode with her health, ....and her husband has cancer, for a while he was not doing very well, she said she was not coming back to QVC, but her husband was doing better and this would enable her to pursue other employment opportunities...

A couple things I find interesting is:
1. The way the hosts practically beg viewers to like their Facebook Pages (Gee does QVC require the hosts to meet a certain quota of followers or likes or something.....).
2. QVC hosts put their personal lives out there, yet some hosts then get upset because then viewers comment about the hosts and their personal lives on their Facebook Pages and The Forums--which have resulted in a couple of particularly "ugly incidents"............Well when you open and push that social media door QVC things happen-

I for one have never been on FaceBook and never want to be. If that's how they want to do the "Get To Know The Hosts" that's fine. All I will say is a few years back you could send a question or a birthday wish or whatever to a host through and e-mail and get a personl answer. I guess it's like everything else in this world. No body wants to have any more contact with you than they have to.

We still have the email option. Look at the bottom of any page on QVC.com and you'll see "Meet our Hosts." Click/tap there.
You'll see a page of their photos. Click/tap the host pic, and if they offer an email address you'll see "My Email" as an option (displayed next to their photo). Click/tap that, and you can send them an email message. Here's an example:

if you dont want to follow them on facebook, twitter, or instagram, you can read their blogs that are posted on this site......it will give you some glimpses into their lives.
