The new format on "Meet the hosts" only shows name and face instructing us to go to Facebook. How are we to become acquainted with them if there is no information there. Not everyone is on Facebook or any of the other extra sites that are socially used. If I join to get info from you I am but in s position that opens me to access from others. When asked if I am on there I refuse to lie and I want to choose how I want to communicate. People have forgotten how to talk on the phone, send a written thank you or birthday card, etc. Most of us keep up with technology but we still think it is important to have more personal contact. It is always good to know someone took the time for us and was not in so much of a hurry they emailed/texted, etc a message. Enough said as I know many do not agree.

Personally I am not interested in getting acquainted with the hosts. I know some viewers are, and that is fine, but who they are is no more important to me than is knowing about the clerk at my local shoe store.

I do not belong to Facebook and do not care to join. These days most websites, companies, media., etc will only communicate with you through these different social websites. I am sure it leaves out alot of people who would like to make contact........but maybe it is these companies/organizations way of having less people to deal with............otherwise they would have some type of website you could just converse with...

On a rare occasion, I check out Lisa Robertson's and Lisa Mason's website. You DON'T get acquainted with them on FB - and that's not the purpose. Lisa Robertson is usually posting her trips and recipes. Lisa Mason keeps us updated on her husband's health issues. Many people email them questions - and they're never answered. I think the purpose is so that the hosts aren't forgotten - since most hosts move on and they like to keep their audience. For the present hosts --- u feel like u know something about them and will purchase from the Q.

I am not interested in "getting acquainted" or communicating with them. I was looking to see their education history and past work experience. There are people out here thinking that job is easy and that they could do it. Young ladies are planning their educational future and visiting colleges this summer. Knowing the background history of people who work in fields they might like gives them an idea of questions to ask and an educational route to take. Some young ladies we know are trying to get information this summer before they start their junior year of high school. It may sound early but they are very conscious of the importance of their decisions. We will give them all the encouragement and guidance we can.

On Evine Live they give a short tutorial on each host. They use to have the same on QVC.....wondering if perhaps they are giving out less personal info for the safety of the hosts from weirdo stalker types?

There are so few hosts at this point I want to 'meet' that it doesn't really matter to me... Still, I get it that viewers shouldn't have to go to Facebook to get a brief biography or blurb about the hosts. Another area in which the constantly updated... but not improved... website falls flat.

Well, if these young woman are interested in a career pushing stuff on a home shopping network as a career I am sure that they can go to Facebook themselves and get this information. All the young people are on Facebook.

You have made an excellent point about companies only wanting to communicate with you through social media. I have just had this experience with two different laundry detergent manufacturers who will only provide coupons if you contact them through social media. What a slap in the face to long-time loyal customers. What happened to the direct methods of communication. Not old-fashioned, just trying to get the job done in a direct method of communication. Also, I am not totally proficient on these social media sites, and I do not want every one of my friends knowing who I am looking up, liking, etc.

I cannot imagine any 18 year old going off to college aspiring to be a shopping channel host. They might be interested in Communications, Entertainment, or some area of Journalism. They end up applying for these selling jobs after trying other things. But the common thread seems to be the Entertainment, Communications, Journalism industry.
