My mode of operation is this: I record any program that looks interesting; play it muted; if any product really looks good to me I watch the presentation. Then, if I think I want to buy, I shop online at various sites to see if I can get it cheaper. I do not order much from QVC any more.
I agree with the analysis of the new hosts. Most of them talk way too fast I can hardly understand them. I do not care about their personal life. Just explain the features of the product.

@Georgiagrama I don't think you understand the psychological concept of projection. Google it.

Psychological projection - Wikipedia
Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.[1] For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude. It incorporates blame shifting.
According to some research, the projection of one's unconscious qualities onto others is a common process in everyday life.[2]
To apply this theory to a suggestion to a company to properly train their hosts in an overly large font (corrected by the way) simply means that you don't really understand it either.
Have a wonderful evening.

@kjae wrote:They shouldn't have to turn the channel. The sales people should be professional. QVC went after an entire different demographic with most of the new hires, and it is NOT the demographic who is going to tune in to QVC.
They're even starting to look alike.

QVC isn't the only shopping channel that has some loud sales pitches. Some hosts in Canada have loud voices or annoying speech mannerisms so I either delete the PVR if I had recorded a show or simply change channels on TV or close the ipad app's live feed. In a 500 channel universe I'd rather watch TCM or MeTV than an annoying sales pitch. My pet peeve is when a host overtalks a vendor and basically hijacks the conversation. That is when I stop watching.

Or better yet shop online....

If everyone shopped online, then there would be no need to have a live show with all the expenses that it entails.

Amen to that. I am so turned off with them. I wached one be so clueless with Valeriie Parr Hill it was embarrassing. I had to turn the channel.
