I just don't think that's fair.  If I owned a business and wanted to increase my sales, I couldn't come to this forum and describe all my wares; and, as far as I know that wouldn't be allowed.

@eddyandme, actually you could, as long as you don't post a link to an outside site.

@Ibby114. And actually, I was only going to mention that I have a friend whose husband has several Porche's, one or two even vintage.  So it's not necessarily a "biggie" to get a ride in one....at least not from my point of view.  But the mods would probably have deleted that one also.  You're right, I will ignore that poster in the future.  Sure with they still had the "ignore" button!!!!  Loved to have that available!

@KrimpetteI'm actually a basic 'get me from point A to point B' kind of car person. Very basic - no fluff- with good safety features! Although I want heated seats with my next Subaru. Woman Very Happy

If people stopped responding, they would go away.  I no longer even open them, but the last one I saw had 70 replies.

LOL, the replies are as silly as the posts.   Which is pretty much what the OP wants IMO.

Maybe, just maybe, someone in her camp is gathering stuff for her to use as "jokes" in her on-couch presentations?  Smiley Tongue

I don't read things that I don't want to read about. No ban needed. Please, if I complained about those things here that i find messed up and suggested they be banned, it would be ridicoulous.

Exactly. Some are not happy enough when they stop reading. They wish to control and stop everybody from reading and participating. Really!!!!

If you see it that way, ignore the bait, game over.  Do you really need a mod to step in when you can choose not to click on the post at all and ignore the entire thread without any assistance?

It's like if I don't approve it, it should be gone and nobody should read it! A ban is ridiculous.

I think the Community Standards are strict enough, and we don't need any more restrictions or banning.

I'm not interested in a lot of topics that are posted on these forums.  But it's easy enough to scroll on by until I find something I want to read or comment on.  It doesn't bother me in the slightest if there are topics I don't want to see.  These forums are for a wide variety of people, not for any one of us in particular.  I would never think of asking for a topic to be banned simply because I didn't like it or was tired of it.

I agree! It's bizarre to expect something to be banned b/c of personAL likes and dislikes. It's apparently a control issue, b/c we all have the ability to read or not to read, to contribute or not contribute. But to insist on what others do? Ridiculous!

I didn't know that, @DJs mom.  Good to know!

This is totally off the topic but my sister lives on a barrier island right near Charleston, South Carolina and I have seen a woman there who looks just like she could be Lisa's older sister or maybe Aunt.

I travel down there often. The resemblance is striking.

The poster of the LR threads has admitted that they post them for fun.  And I suppose as long as no standards are violated, they will continue.  Perhaps the poster is being facetious or sarcastic and is not serious at all.  Can't tell tone in writing.

@qbetzforreal

Personally, I think the "fun" reason they post them is to get others riled up, aka baiting, while they sit back and laugh, but that's just my opinion and apparently not the opinion of the Mods..

You're probably right.  But I don't mind, because they make me laugh too.  They're just so ridiculous.  Sometimes I'm not in the mood, so I simply ignore.  But other times I find them - and some of the responses - pretty amusing.
