These shows are more aptly named “In the Kitchen with the TSV.” By the time the TSV is shown 2 or 3 times for a half hour each and the first few products are repeated, most of the 4-hour show is eaten up (ha ha). And then if they do get to cookware or appliances, its an endless repeat of color choices and the blow by blow of exactly how many of each color are left that takes up most of each presentation.
These shows were so much better when they featured cookware and kitchen gadgets and how they are used. Now it’s prepared food (with googly eyes and happy dances) and the TSV. I think the prepared food took over the show just so David can yum yum and spin more often. I know this is a cranky post, but a show I used to look forward to, darn it, is now one I avoid, which is my problem now shared with you! Lol

All the "In the Kitchen" shows are the same old items. Also, I've tuned in to the other Q channels and many of the shows are repeats. I am watching a lot less lately.

@SunValley I also think too much time is wasted going over and over the colors and how many are left. Also, waiting for someone to come and take away the items that are sold out. (Put a sold sign on that color!)

When you watch the other shopping networks you will notice that they show much more product during each segment because they do not linger for 20 minutes on 1 item like QVC is doing. Some of the shows I want to watch on QVC, I record and then I just fast-forward until I see something I like. Not interested in all the blabber and the constant repeats from TSV is annoying to the extreme. Cooking shows do not need to be 3- 4 hours long, they should cut them down to 2 hours, that is more than enough. Sure hope QVC is making some changes in the future, they are losing viewers for sure.

you said it very well.
it does take many people seeing something 3 or 4 times before deciding to purchase. i get that.
it may be an easier choice if more things were on 5 or 6 easy pay and free shipping, just thinking out loud
i agree with everyone that said there should be a larger variety of kitchen products.
to me, it seems that they more of their brand they make, the smaller, the variety of other brands becomes, at least on air.
i also think that some new eyes would not hurt.
for example, there are some well known companies that make things like air fryers, but because they have their own brand in several sizes, we don't see other brands aired, even though they are on the web site.
i have been to the houseware show in chicago. it's amazing!
it's even better if you can "browse" a day or so before the event actually starts, because you can walk up to any booth, opposed to often having to wait for people to clear out from some booths.
while that is the largest convention that i am aware of in this category, there are others.
there is no shortage of new or improved products every year.
perhaps i've missed them, but what about items that are used on a regular basis, like a good set of stainless steel mixing bowls with lids, or sheet pans with the wire racks?
about having to bring in a lot of something, may be reason.
they could always bring in 1,500 or something and then wait list another 3,000, to add variety.
or just pre-sell items saying they will ship in 30 days or whatever.

@finewoman wrote:I was at Walmart yesterday. Guess what I found. LEONETTI'S STROMBOLI'S. I have ordered this paying $60. At Walmart you get a 7oz for $2.88. So doing the math - on QVC you pay $60 for 6- 12oz so getting that at Walmart would cost you 34.56. I live in TN and found the pepperoni.
@finewoman Lots of examples like yours all the time - I'll add mine. Maybe 2 years ago they had the garbage disposal genie on ITKWD which they were marketing as a new "$20 bill alert" which, let's face it, is usually $19.98, on easy pay and with tax, S/H was close to $25.
Found online it was available in stock 2 miles away in Home Depot for $9.99. Even paying state tax, no S/H and was half price, charged it, took home right then and there - btw, great product! I understand those with mobility issues/can't drive may depend heavily on QVC but can't understand why anyone chooses to often pay 30-50% more for an item on QVC when you can almost always find the item cheaper online where they'll ship most anything these days and it doesn't take forever to ship/arrive!

I think there are way too many 'Kitchen' related shows offered these days!
Besides the regular David's, Mary's, Stacey's shows...add in all the 'kitchen' items shown on Jill's and David's home shows and the occasional 'kitchen' hours.
Three/four hours of any 'kitchen/food' show is way too long. And then, so often the same items are shown over and over on all the shows. One of the reasons I don't watch the shopping channel as often.....

@SunValleyThere is nothing "cranky" about your post, it is honestly what you see when viewing, as with the rest of us who object. You, my dear are not alone, the childish behavior of a certain kitchen male host is wearing thin and just cannot watch the antics any more! I tune in to see the products but will not endure the obnoxious behavior to see the products! And might I add, that ITKWM is beginning to have some silly antics and goings on during her shows.....too much mentoring under ITKWD!

I agree QVC should do the fifty fifty state again... It was such a good way to find new and wonderful things. What happened to the QVC Travel Bus? David should think about it, he was always a big hit with audiences. Just a thought...:-)

I get so tired of the reviewing of colors every two minutes and stating the number left. Most people use their phone or computer to order so if they want "taxi cab yellow" they can quickly find out if it is still available. There is no real cooking shown any more. I no longer watch ITKWM since it is the same as David's show. I usually record David's program, but don't always watch all of it.
