I realize this topic has been discussed before, but this is a last effort on my part. The default font size 3 is almost impossible to read. Many don’t want to be bothered with the second it takes to change the font to at least a 4, which is readable.

I simply don’t buy that your ITs, or whoever oversees your technical issues with the BB format cannot make a simple change to a default size font.

I ran a computer department for a CPA firm for 24 years, and I could have made a change like that in a snap.  And I retired in 2004!

With all due respect, I would like to request that the default font size be changed to a “4.”  Thank you.

What device are you using?  I use a MacBook Pro and the font is perfectly readable for me.

Re: Default font size

@LilacTree  Couldn't find a Font Size, but found a "Text Size" of Large. Default was "medium". Is this better for you to read? If so, I'm trying to make your life easier. My eyes aren't what they used to be either. Hope others will follow suit, as well.

ETA: Well, that didn't do what I anticipated. Will try later. Off to the Library.

What I really don't get are the few posters who must go out of their way to reduce the font size of their posts down to something akin to this...

When they do, no matter how interesting their thought might be, I skip over them...

I mean, come on, what is the point...? Do they think it's cute...? It's easy to adjust your font size by simply highlighting your text and going to the font size icon in the menu at the top of every posting text box. When using Chrome, you can also adjust the size of what you see on the screen by going to the settings... Other browsers probably offer this option as well...

I always use the 3 font and can read it fine. It's the default 1 I can't read or 2 for that matter.

ETA: The font you used is too large for me.

I change mine to 4. If I don't it comes out too small for me.

The tiny sentence @stevieb posted would be skipped over by me. I could just finger spread with IPad, but can't be bothered. I wonder if it appears that small to the poster who posted it?

This is font 1

This is font 2

This is font 3

This is font 4

This is font 5

@LilacTree

I agree with you. Could be an easy IT fix. One shouldn't have to constantly change the font every time one wants to reply/post. Default is wayyyy too small. O

*edited to add: I exclusively use my iPad and have to change font size to 3 usually to be easily read. Even for my own eyes.

   Hello @LilacTree Heart

^^  (this [IS] a#4), and I can say 'definitely' that I, personally, have never figured out their font size system having three different top brand computers.

Yesterday, most of the Community postings were too small so I had to pinch and spread my pc's feature to read. Noticed on Among Friends, everyone's post appeared very large.

This> is #5... would be what I may use when this keeps happening, and I always ask to whomever.... is this font okay or bothering you? Most prefer 5.

I find that most posters use different fonts / numbers with a comfortable print, so I use what others prefer.

I stopped, over a year ago, being a second hand guesser squinting to read. It may have been discussed before, and personally do not go by someone else's analysis.

"....if too small I just pass over"- not that important to me if I can use the mechanism on my pc to enlarge. A bit of a hassle but I have no problem enlarging".

I am still adjusting to the (could be) frustration of jerking, jumping and going to another forum half way through many of my posts.

              ???????????????

Actually, I just close off!  Adding in that I have 20/20 vision and have no problem with anything readable from any other sites.

Yesterday, one AF's longer posting was so small, I did use a small magnifying glass that I use for small intricate CRAFT doodads, or to thread a minute opening on a thin needle.

~~ Have no idea why their IT is small font one day and readable the next for some and not for (??) others, but do know it's not just me.

Here is a #2. I notice many posts appear to me as this being a nuisance.

#3...It all depends what day, or what is being sent - representing a topic in a different forum.

@grandma2pkmh

This is a 4, the size I have to choose any time I want to post.  It is still small, but readable.  I used the 5 in my OP for emphasis. The 3 is just not readable.

I realize we all use different devices that may make the difference in the size of the text.

I’m not here that often anymore, so i’ll just deal with it.
