I think the OP decides the best answer.
I see, then it's like Yahoo Answers, where the OP gets to select the best answer. I suppose it's good feedback and encourages constructive responses. In Yahoo, you also get "extra points" for being selected, though I don't know what that's worth other than bragging rights.

Actually the OP could pick more than one 'best answer' from what I was told by Eve-QVC mod. There is a thread over in Fashion discussing this further.

JustJazzman, if the OP can pick more than one answer for "best," that doesn't make sense. Either it's the "best" or it's not.
The whole best answer concept is foolish.

Is there a reason why this option is just on the Fashion link? Couldn't it be used for all posts?

I hardly ever see it

@GingerPeach wrote:I wish this "best answer" feature would be removed. The majority of posts are not asking specific questions. It is highly annoying to see the block "best answer" in each and every post after your own original.
Is there some way to remove this if you don't want it?
And why not bring back the ignore feature? Now that is something people can use and that has value. "Best answer" has very low value on these forums.
Because the Best Answer feature is included in the forum software and the Ignore feature is not. It's much easier to turn a feature on than add something that isn't there.
I don't mind the Best Answer feature. I think it's useful in some posts and I just ignore it when it isn't.

I do understand this is part of the software program QVC has invested in. I am not equating it to something optional that had to be purchased separately. I've been involved in software upgrades also and I understand that a company wants to use the features it has available. Whether it's included or not is not why I brought it up. QVC has the option to put it here or not, apparently, since they are rolling it out in stages.
This "best answer" is still a waste of bandwidth (or however this type of thing is measured these days). It's also just so much clutter on each and every post. It's also not that easy to ignore.
QVC would have made better use of its dollars if it had purchased new software with the ignore feature included.

Some OPs have unintentionally or unwittingly marked a post with "best answer", so a post designated with "best answer" is not necessarily the best answer.

LOL There's a thread in Fashion asking about a host's sweater. The "best answer" is the post which features a photo of the sweater. IMO the best answer is the one that referred to it as a hot mess. 😈 If they're going to have the feature, I'd like for posters to rate the best answer in addition to the OP's rating, but then again, isn't that part of what the hearts are all about?

I believe the feature is for those threads that have a specific right answer - usually about a product. Example - Is Isaac's 24-7 stretch fabric the same weight in the crop pant as in the long pant? Or - Which Nick Chavez hairspray is the least sticky? Or questions about an upcoming TSV asked of people who purchased same item before. That is why it is only active in TSV, Beauty and Fashion. It's not for open-ended, general discussion threads. However, if someone starts a silly or off-topic thread in one of these categories, the feature would be there to be used.
I can't see myself ever using this feature. Just another opportunity to hurt people's feelings and make enemies.
