I wish this "best answer" feature would be removed. The majority of posts are not asking specific questions. It is highly annoying to see the block "best answer" in each and every post after your own original.
Is there some way to remove this if you don't want it?
And why not bring back the ignore feature? Now that is something people can use and that has value. "Best answer" has very low value on these forums.

I've never seen that on any of my posts. Why are you getting it?

Apparently it was just added to the Fashion forum.
I began a new thread today about Jill Martin doing well today.
As I understand it, only the originator of a thread sees the "best answer" so if you start a thread in Fashion, TSV, and whichever other forum has this now, once you get responses to your original post, you'll see "best answer" in a rectangle at the lower right of all the posts that reply to your original.

Is the best answer the one that got the most hearts? Or is the moderator deciding which is best?

I think the OP decides the best answer.

Probably a group of QVC underlings were locked in a room and told to come up with a new idea for the forums.
The best answer feature is that idea.
Weak. . .

I don't see it as a useful feature. You could rate one "best answer" and someone could come along later and provide an even better answer. I just ignore it because I really have no use for it.

I agree with you! If someone takes the time to read my post and respond to it, I will read it. I don't want to have to choose a "best answer"! Posters are aware if someone has answered a question the original poster asked that they don't need to answer it again. However, they might have some additonal input.
What I mean is if a poster has started a thread like "What was the jacket Pat was wearing in the 9 a.m. Susan Graver show?" and poster #3 has given the answer. Most posters will see that and not comment. But someone may want to say, "I have the jacket in blue and it looks great with. . ." Had the OP chosen the "best answer" already, the person who already has the jacket might not comment, and that information might have helped the OP decide!

It doesn't seem at all useful or helpful for use on our type of board. I'd never use it.

If those QVC underlings were locked in a room, with the Slinky lady's voice playing on a continuous loop, it might inspire them to bring back the ignore feature.
