Running up the score for no reason other than to humiliate the opponent is the worst of poor sportsmanship. The coach should be ashamed of herself.

Before the coach is critizied further here are the facts: I just checked the OU Women's Softball schedule and through the games played yesterday these are the statistics:
OU scored 132, opponents scored 17, through 16 games for an average of 8.25 runs per game for OU.
12 of these games were run ruled.
The largest margin of victory was 15-1.
This is not little league, and the OU softball team has some incredibly talented players. If you are playing a team much less talented you are not taught not to play your best. But because of the variety of talent teams may have they do have the run rule so a game doesn't have to be played in its entirity if one team gets a large lead.
Patty Gasso has a excellent reputation and is well respected in college softball.
She has nothing to be ashamed of.

What you do at that point of a lopsided game is to put in the other players that don't get much playing time and give them a chance to shine.
