@Kachina624 I'm with you there! Sometimes those all black ones are not attractive and the ones with the white soles look better. Weird. You would think the monochrome ones would look better but not always the case.

I don't like white soles either. And I like them even less on men's shoes. There's a cable network where practically all of the men are on air wearing white soled shoes. I don't like that look at all.

For me, it depends on the style of the shoe, I tend to lean more towards a darker sole color rather than white soles.
@alliswell I have a few pair w/ white soles....loafer style or colored sneaker type slip-ons. Variety is the spice of life. Difficult to find other shoes.

@lovesrecess As soon as someone or an article says what I "should" do or wear....I revolt. I can't wear sneakers ALL the time, right?

I really dislike wearing white soles too. Have bought rarely, sneakers or patterned skechers, when no choice offered.

I'm thinking maybe the shoe manufacturers assumed we'd still be "nesting" and did not prepare for shoes that are a bit dressier.
I think you need to broaden your search @Shanus . While that white sole trend is still around, there are other styles to be had and they are not that hard to find.
Happy shopping.

@gertrudecloset I guess I should have added that I rarely wear sandals because most of them don't have a lot of support. That's why I donated my ballerina flats, too.

@silkyk I may be vertically challanged, but wear size 7 1/2 or an 8! My Dad used to tell me I'd never fall forward...LOL. He wore size 13 and my brother was a size14, but both were 6 feet tall.

@ShanusI have flat, flats. Don't know why because I can't wear them due to a bunion on my left foot and having flat feet. I prefer something with a little heel.
Have you tried Vionic shoes? they may have more support. Echo and another people like for support is Arche. Something with at least 1 1/2 inch heel or higher for me. Not more than 3.5 inch though.
Anyways, sounds like you need a trip to a B&M to try on various styles. I think I should too.

@Shanus I can't recommend Vionic because while they used to be pretty good, last coupe of years I have found them to have small toeboxes and huge ankles, which is not how my feet are. (I do wear wide.). But I gave a second chance to Earth Origins and I am doing pretty good with them. They have decent arch support (but not hardcore, like Vionic), and comfortable insoles.
I also like Fly London and Propet, though Propet is going through white sole syndrome too. A non-white sole shoe can be found here or there. But all these brands have good support and comfort, which I also need.
