@gertrudecloset   I guess I should have added that I rarely wear sandals because most of them don't have a lot of support. That's why I donated my ballerina flats, too.

@Shanus I can't recommend Vionic because while they used to be pretty good, last coupe of years I have found them to have small toeboxes and huge ankles, which is not how my feet are.  (I do wear wide.). But I gave a second chance to Earth Origins and I am doing pretty good with them.  They have decent arch support (but not hardcore, like Vionic), and comfortable insoles.

I also like Fly London and Propet, though Propet is going through white sole syndrome too.  A non-white sole shoe can be found here or there.  But all these brands have good support and comfort, which I also need.

@NYCLatinaMeare you sure those Vionics might not work for Shanus?  The problem you have ~ might not be what she suffers from.  They have a nice espadrille sandal this summer.  I've never worn any of this brand, but hey maybe it'll be good for her.  Nordstrom has a small selection one could look at.

Hi @gertrudecloset the only thing I know is that @Shanus wants support in her shoes, and no white soles.  So I have no idea what shoe may work for her or not.  I recommended shoes that meet the criteria I know and work for me, with explanations as to why, so that she can make a decision whether to check out my recommendations or not.  Honestly, it is OK with me either way.  Just trying to be helpful.  Vionics sizing is inconsistent and I can't recommend those shoes.  I have bought dozens of pairs of Vionics and I am not exaggerating. Since you state have never worn Vionics, I think it would be hard for you to know whether they are good shoes or not, though of course they may work for Shanus, and, of course, you are free to make your own recommendations.

I get what you're saying.  I was too, trying to be helpful.  I see that on other sites they have an espadrille with a little height and are supposed to be bery comfortable.  No white soles and not flat (she mentioned she didn't want this).  Who knows?  Woman LOLDon't know about whether or not the toe runs narrow.  That could vary by shoe design!

Anyway, if I don't get out this shoe section, I'm likely to buy a pair of shoes this year.  I said I wasn't going to, but I've been looking for something pink at a good price.  Nothing to jump up and down for yet.  Every time I come to this section of the forum, I start browsing for shoes......

thanks for responding @NYCLatinaMe .

@gertrudecloset if you are curious about the fit of closed Vionic shoes without white soles, you can read the reviews.  I am not the only customer with these complaints.

I believe you.  I wasn't looking at the ones on the Q though.  On a large Brick and Mortar site that I buy everything from @NYCLatinaMe .  I can never see the reviews for anything on this website.  I check reviews of shoes in several places before I purchase.  The ones on Nordies that I'm talking about seem to have average reviews.  One review for their espadrille says it runs large.  I dunno......

These are the vionics I'm referring to.  I don't see these on the Q so I don't know which one you're referring to @NYCLatinaMe .

Happy shoe shopping.....

@NYCLatinaMe   Going through Nordstrom and other sites, it seems that very casual, sport and white soled (also sporty shoes) are the most shown unless you want a dress shoe w/ heels. I'm not finding anything in between.

Thanks for comments and suggestions. I even shopped at Cole Haan and the "sporty shoes" are the norm there also. I may just have to wait until next spring/summer to see what comes out. I know during fall/winter, there was the same leisure shoe issue. I'm not always dressed in leisure type outfits. When wearing slacks, sometimes a more "stylish" shoe would be great.
