@springers  I have found the most comfortable shoes to be Skechers.  I've purchased some wedge shoes on QVC, but mainly wear sneakers or sandals now and buy most of the sneakers from Macy's or Skechers online.  I've have some great and comfortable boots from both Skechers and Vionic.

If you have issues with your feet, like Planter Faciitis, then I have had great luck with Vionics.  Especially their sandals.

If you need comfortable high heel type shoes, I have no recommendations - I gave those high ones up years ago.

@springers    You are obviously picky about your shoes. Without doubt, if I were you, I'd go to a local she shop and try on the type of shoe you're interested in.  You can waste a lot if money on return shipping just trying on shoes from QVC or some other online store.

Many shoes are so cheaply made nowdays, its hard to recommend A name brand.  Better to see and feel them, tryingg on for comfort.

My go to brand is Easy Spirit.  I need shoes with a good arch support.  I have a number of their shoes and order from the website.  They are always having sales.  Love the walking shoes.

@springers  If you are not sure what you want try Zappos and Nordstrom They have free S&H both ways. That way you can try different brands.  If you are looking for sneaker type shoes I like Skechers. Have many different styles and they are always comfortable. I think their website also gives free S&H.

Thanks for your suggestions. I should have been more specific and said nicer close toe shoe brands.
I have sneakers. Unfortunately here in Ca our Nordstrom left as our mall is a ghost town. I will I will check them online. This is probably why I haven’t bought shoes in over ten years; not that impressed me. Just wondering if someone had a brand that wows you Smiley Happy

I took my grand daughter shoe shopping today.  Best to try on no matter the age.  She normally wears a 9 1/2  and ended up with a 9 in the shoe she liked.   She got the brand Van.  Nice tennis shoe and fit was good.

I found myself a pair of Sketchers as well but I need to try on and make sure any more and doesn't matter the brand.

I convinced shoes are not made the same and even in certain brands they vary as far as fit goes.  Never use to be the case.  I no longer order shoes on line.

I am a Vionic fan, also a favorite is NAOT, sometimes hard to find but they last forever and are extremely comfy. If you want athletic or casual shoes OluKai is a good choice but I can only get them online. I used to love Skechers but have been disappointed with their quality for the past couple of years.
