I have been baking the last few days and have several different varities of cookies..some need to be stored in tins others tupperware. If you are giving cookies away how do you gift them?
My instinct is to put things in those decorated Christmas bags, possibly double bag and either freeze or keep refrigerated until I can give away, which will hopefully be one day next week. I am always worried things won't taste fresh...I am probably overthinking this!

If I'm doing gift bags, I use zip locks because things stay fresher. It's smaller amounts, containers create too much of a foot print.
For a larger amount I either cover a chinet plate with aluminum foil, put on an assortment, cover and add bow and tag.
Really big trays go on a round Wilton cake board done as the plate above.

You could store them in air tight containers refrigerated or frozen until time to gift them then put them in the decorated Christmas bags. Yum!

Have you checked Dollar Tree?
Walmart and other discount stores have holiday themed containers also.

@Mom2Dogs I usually buy the Lock n Lock gift containers with bags. But I put the cookies inside a ziplock bag first.

I freeze them and when time comes to give away, I buy clear cellophane bags and beautiful ribbon with Christmas motif, from the ribbon store.
However, I don't give food as gifts any longer. Times have changed.

Thanks for the replies...I only gift to family and one friend who never bakes.
Everything right now is in the fridge or freezer. I have plenty of cute holiday bags to bag things up in individually...the receiver can worry about storing them in the proper storage containers.
Some things need to be stored in a tin.

I put gift cookies in seasonal tins with foil under the lids and don't make up the tins until just before I'm ready to take them to the recipient. I store them in Lock and Lock containers once they've cooled after baking. They stay fresh for a few weeks.
