Here is one I would make at christmas. I will buy some of those real small baggies and put some miniature marshmellows in it.
i buy some coffee mugs from the dollar store and some candy canes. I put like 3 packs of the hot chocolate mix, bag of mini marshmellows and 3 candy canes into the mug. Then I would tie a ribbon or bow on the handle of the mug. I would give them to co worlers. It was well perceived.
I attatch this poem:

A little cup of hot chocolate,
I'm sending 'round your way.
I hope that you'll enjoy it,
on some cold and wintery day!
As you sip this hot chocolate,
it's warmth will warm your heart,
just like your friendship warmed up mine,
right from the very start!

No I would not make them but those that do it's very sweet. I for one am weirded out at things made at others homes and given to me. Especially now. This is my phobia not putting anyone down or saying not to do. @LilBitMissty I love that poem.

Every Christmas, family and friends look forward to receiving sand tarts and chocolate pretzels from me. I announced this year I am not making them. I don't want them to wonder about my health and handling of a food item gift during a pandemic. I would have reservations myself. I'm sure most wouldn't give it a second thought, but that's the approach I am making this year.
I've received jar gifts with premeasured baking ingredients before and honestly never made them (before the pandemic). I kept them as decoration for a while and then threw them out. That's just me.

Never assembled them myself, but have received them. Last Christmas, I got a 'jar recipe' cookbook from the library and I was impressed with some of the cute ideas.

Pinterest has some wonderful ideas for layered soup in mason jars that sound delicious and they look really nice too.
