Whenever I use my moms food processor to chop onions, they have a weird metallic taste. It has a stainless steel blade. Any body else have this problem? It is an older one from the 80's, but it still works.
@Barbarainnc If you have room for one more kitchen gadget, invest about $20 and buy the OXO vegetable chopper. It does a great job on onions, carrots, celery, potatoes. Anything you need chopped/diced. Got mine at BB&B using their coupon.
This is probably not the answer most want to hear, but a good chef's knife beats all in my book. Knife skill is worth learning. Once learned, you can work faster than the time it takes to set up and clean other tools.
Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.
